Disney Parks says Earth, Wind and Fire's "September" will play all day at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT on Monday, September 21. The announcement came in a short video on Disney's YouTube channel, which promises riders will not have to cross their fingers for the song that day. It is at least the second year Disney has marked the date.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT will play Earth, Wind and Fire's "September" all day on Monday, September 21, according to a short video Disney Parks posted on YouTube. The company's caption promises riders will not need luck to hear it that day, the same one-date treatment Disney gave the song in 2025.

What Disney said

The announcement came as a vertical clip on the Disney Parks YouTube channel, posted the Tuesday before the date in question under the title "Of course we remembered what Monday's date is." The caption carries the actual news: "'September' will be playing all day at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT on September 21."

Disney put it a second way in the same caption: "You don't have to cross your fingers or wish upon a star to get the song 'September' on that day to remember, Earth, Wind and Fire's iconic anthem will play all day long!" The post also credits creator Caleb Natale, who Disney says hit play on "our giant tape deck."

Is it the only song playing that day

Disney's caption does not spell out what happens to the rest of the ride's soundtrack, and no Disney page states that the other tracks are switched off. What it does say is that "September" plays all day and that riders will not have to hope for it, which is the clearest official signal of what to expect: guests who board on the 21st should get the song rather than a draw from the usual line-up.

The company was blunter about it last year. In the equivalent 2025 video, a voice runs through the options and keeps landing on the same answer, with a suggestion of "Disco Inferno" turned down as "not today," according to YouTube's automatic captions for that clip. Disney has not published a track list for September 21 in either year.

The same date, a year apart

This is at least the second year running that Disney has marked the date on its own channels. On September 9, 2025 the Disney Parks channel posted a 23 second video titled "Do you remember...what's on cosmic repeat September 21st?", tagged for EPCOT, Cosmic Rewind and Earth, Wind and Fire. The 2026 title, with its "of course we remembered," reads as a callback to that post and to the song's opening line about the 21st night of September.

Anything before 2025 is harder to pin down from Disney's own posts. Coverage of earlier editions exists, but the first-party record that holds up is the pair of videos from 2025 and 2026, so this piece treats the day as a recent habit rather than a long-running tradition.

Riding it on the 21st

Cosmic Rewind sits in World Discovery at EPCOT, the reverse-launch coaster whose ride vehicles rotate to face the action. Disney's attraction page lists a 42in (107cm) height requirement and nothing else specific to the date. The video says nothing about the virtual queue, Lightning Lane or any change to how guests get on board, so the day looks like an ordinary operating day with a fixed playlist.

What this means for EPCOT guests

Riders who have been chasing "September" and getting something else now have a date that removes the guesswork, and a single Monday to use it. Anyone planning around it should expect company: the song is the most requested of the ride's set, and Disney has now advertised the date twice on its main channel. Park hours and attraction details for the day are posted at DisneyWorld.com.
