Walt Disney World survey asks guests exactly how they tapped into the park
A post-visit Walt Disney World survey asks guests whether they entered with a MagicBand, a card or a phone, and how easy mobile entry was. It lands days after a rumor of new entry gates and less reliance on MagicBands, which Disney has not confirmed.

Walt Disney World is asking guests, in a post-visit survey, exactly how they tapped into the park: with a MagicBand, a physical card or a phone. The questions go deep on MagicMobile, MagicBand+ and the My Disney Experience app, and they arrive just as a rumor of new entry gates is making the rounds. Disney has not confirmed any change to park entry.

Key Details
- What: A post-visit guest survey on park technology

- Status of entry changes: Rumored, not confirmed by Disney
The Buzz
A rumor that spread among Disney fans on October 15 says Walt Disney World is planning new entry gates and less reliance on MagicBands. A survey that asks guests precisely how they got through the turnstile, days later, has fans reading the questions closely.
The survey starts with every piece of park technology
Disney first asks whether guests used any park technology at all, and defines exactly what it means by technology.
- The opening question. "Did you use any technology while you visited Disney's Animal Kingdom?"
- What counts. The My Disney Experience app, Lightning Lane Multi Pass, Lightning Lane Single Pass, Mobile Order, Merchandise Mobile Checkout and MagicBand or MagicBand+.
- An overall rating. Guests rate their technology experience on five steps: Excellent, Very Good, Good, Just Okay and Poor.
- Room to explain. Later comment boxes hold up to 500 characters each and ask guests to "Please be specific."
MagicMobile, which Disney announced in March 2021, lets guests use a phone or smartwatch in place of a ticket card or MagicBand. It sits at the center of the survey.
My Disney Experience app questions
The app gets its own block of questions, down to individual pages.
- Two statements. Guests agree or disagree that "The My Disney Experience app is easy to use" and that its "features meet my needs."
- Three ratings. Ease of finding information, speed of page loads and accuracy of information.
- Single features. The Park Map page, in-app search and the View Wait Times & Show Times page each get a rating.
- Entry in the app. One listed feature is "Accessing theme park tickets and/or Annual Passes via the app during park visit."
How Disney asks guests to describe park entry
The entry question is blunt, and choosing a phone opens a run of follow-up questions.
- The entry question. "How did you tap to enter into Disney's Animal Kingdom?"
- Three answers. MagicBand or MagicBand+, physical card, or mobile device and mobile wallet.
- Which phone. Mobile users pick the device they personally used: Apple iOS, Android or Other.
- How easy. They then rate entering with a phone or wallet on five steps, from Very easy to Very difficult.
- MagicMobile features. Guests mark which they used at Walt Disney World: Park Entry, Lightning Lane Entry, linking Disney PhotoPass photos, or none.
Park Entry is the first MagicMobile feature on that list, ahead of Lightning Lane Entry and PhotoPass linking.
Questions about the next trip
Disney also asks whether guests plan to keep using MagicMobile and MagicBand+ on future visits.
- Digital ratings. Guests rate the overall My Disney Experience app and MagicMobile from Excellent to Poor.
- Future use. "How likely are you to experience each of these MagicMobile features again on a future visit?" Park Entry is one option.
- The scale. Definitely will, Probably will, May or may not, Probably will not, and Definitely will not.
- Same scale elsewhere. Another page asks the same about Mobile Ordering at quick-service restaurants and about MagicBand+.
- Reasons offered. Positive answers include "MagicMobile made it easy to get into the parks," "I liked not having to use a physical ticket" and "It worked as intended."
- Awareness check. Guests say which MagicMobile features they knew about before taking the survey.
What Disney has and has not confirmed about park entry
Nothing in the survey mentions new gates or facial recognition, and the rumored changes remain unconfirmed.
- The rumor. New Walt Disney World entry gates modeled on Disneyland's, leading in time to facial recognition and less reliance on MagicBands.
- Not in the survey. None of the questions mention new entry gates or facial recognition.
- An earlier survey. In April 2021, Disney surveyed guests in a Magic Kingdom facial recognition test, focusing on repeat use. This one goes to regular visitors.
- MagicBand+ discount ended. Walt Disney World ended discounted pre-arrival MagicBand+ pricing for resort hotel guests and Annual Passholders on October 8, 2025.
- Still on sale. Disneyland said in April it would end on-property MagicBand+ sales, but Walt Disney World still sells them and both resorts support them.
Disney has not commented on the entry gate rumor. Until it does, the survey shows what Disney is measuring, not what it has decided.
Our take. MagicBand+ still works for park entry, so there is no reason to skip one for a trip that is already booked. If you get this survey after a visit, use the 500-character boxes: specific comments about the entry taps are the feedback Disney is asking for.
