Pop Century's Refresh Is Done: New Lobby TV Wall, Retiled Petals Pool Bar and Brighter Rooms
Disney's Pop Century Resort has finished a refresh covering the lobby, Petals Pool Bar and the guest rooms, following earlier work at Everything POP Shopping and Dining. The lobby gains floor-to-ceiling pop culture artwork, a vintage TV wall playing scenes from Disney animated films and communal seating, while the rooms move to wood-toned flooring with Hidden Mickeys in the chair fabric. The work is complete, so a booking made now is a booking into the updated product.

Disney's Pop Century Resort has completed a series of enhancements spanning its lobby, Petals Pool Bar, and guest rooms, giving the beloved Walt Disney World value resort a brighter, more vibrant character. The updates preserve the resort's nostalgic 1950s-1990s pop culture identity while improving functionality and comfort for modern guests. The new spaces are open now.

A Reimagined Lobby Full of Color and Character
The newly refreshed lobby at Pop Century is designed to feel brighter and more functional from the moment guests arrive. Vibrant floor-to-ceiling artwork inspired by pop culture from the 1950s through 1990s now lines the walls, alongside larger-than-life illustrations of Disney's Fab Five.

The set piece is the TV wall, a run of vintage-style television frames playing scenes from Disney animated films, and it sits where arriving guests queue. The less photogenic half of the work is the one guests will actually feel: part of the lobby was reconfigured to open up circulation and add seating, including communal tables, so there is somewhere to sit while waiting on a room-ready text or between a park day and a bus. Value resorts have historically given that space over to queue and gift shop, and Pop Century's lobby doubles as the through-route to Everything POP, so the extra seating is doing real work.

"One of our biggest goals was making the lobby feel brighter, more vibrant and more functional for Guests. We looked at everything from the lighting to the seating layout so the space feels more open and comfortable, and supports the look and feel Disney Imagineers envisioned." Luis Sanchez, project manager, Facility Asset Management
Petals Pool Bar Gets a Fresh Look
Petals Pool Bar sits at the Hippy Dippy Pool, the flower-shaped pool in the 1960s section and the largest of the resort's three. The refresh here is finish work rather than a rebuild: new tile detail behind the bar, updated surfaces, and digital menu boards replacing the older printed ones.
Digital boards are a small thing that changes the queue. Value resort pool bars turn over quickly in the afternoon, and a legible board at distance is the difference between a moving line and a stalled one.

Guest Rooms: Brighter Palette, Decade-Inspired Style
The refreshed guest rooms carry Pop Century's playful, decade-inspired aesthetic into a modernized space. The new design features warm wood-toned flooring, a geometric inset area with pops of blue, gray, green, and orange, and soft sky-blue accents near the bed wall and bathroom.

New curtains and patterned upholstery, including Hidden Mickeys woven into the chair fabric, add personality while keeping the space clean and functional.
Worth knowing before booking: this is a finishes and soft-goods job, not a re-plan. Standard rooms at Pop Century still sleep four, either as two queens or as a queen plus a wall bed, and at roughly 260 square feet they remain among the smallest on property. What the refresh changes is how a small room reads at the end of a 14-hour park day, and lighter finishes over wood-toned flooring buy back some of that.
Part of a Broader Resort Transformation
The lobby, pool bar, and room updates build on earlier enhancements to Everything POP Shopping & Dining, which previously received refreshed dining and shopping spaces along with a new coffee shop. That coffee shop is now the fastest morning stop for anyone catching an early Skyliner. Between the two rounds of work, Pop Century has moved through its guest-facing spaces one at a time rather than closing for a single long refurbishment, and the public side of the resort has now been rebuilt end to end.

What This Means for Walt Disney World Guests
The reason Pop Century books out the way it does has not changed. It shares the Hourglass Lake Disney Skyliner station with Disney's Art of Animation across the footbridge, which puts EPCOT's International Gateway and Disney's Hollywood Studios within a gondola ride rather than a bus queue. That is a Deluxe-adjacent transportation perk attached to a Value nightly rate, and it is a large part of why Pop Century and Art of Animation price above the All-Star resorts.
Two caveats belong with it. Magic Kingdom and Disney's Animal Kingdom are still bus trips, and the Skyliner stops running in high winds and lightning, at which point Disney runs replacement buses. Build a little slack into any morning plan that depends on it.
On-property stays also carry early theme park entry, 30 minutes in any park every day of a stay. Disney continues to expand its Airport Luggage Transfer at Disney pilot, which moves bags between Orlando International Airport and select Disney Resort hotels for guests flying participating airlines; the hotel list has been growing rather than fixed, so confirm Pop Century is on it before counting on the service.
The practical read is timing. The lobby, Petals Pool Bar and the guest rooms are finished rather than in progress, so a booking made today is a booking into the updated product rather than a gamble on which building got done first. Current room offers are listed at DisneyWorld.com/offers, and Value resort discounts typically surface for the late-summer and January windows.
