Hurly-Burly opens at Disney's BoardWalk: family trivia until 9 p.m., then live music for 21 and up
Hurly-Burly opened at Disney's BoardWalk on October 1 in the former Jellyrolls space, with Disney trivia and bingo for all ages from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. and live music for guests 21 and up after that. It takes walk-ups only, serves Italian-American small bites with cocktails and mocktails, and has an outdoor bar with a window on the promenade.

It runs as a family room with Disney trivia and bingo from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., turns 21 and up for live music after that, and for now it seats walk-ups only. It is the newest addition to the Walt Disney World resort's lakeside entertainment district.

The Buzz
FOX 35 Orlando went inside for opening day and spoke with the Imagineer and the entertainment producer behind the room. Their tour fills in what Disney's September menu release left open: how the space was rebuilt, what happens on stage and when the room switches to adults only.
Imagineers rebuilt the Jellyrolls room around one floor and a center stage
Walt Disney Imagineering reworked the layout of the old dueling-piano bar, not only its theme.
- Two inspirations. The look borrows from historic theaters and from famous boardwalks such as Atlantic City and Coney Island.
- Teal, blue and coral. Imagineers built the color scheme from those three shades and added brass accents for a vintage finish.
- One level now. The floor was raised so the whole room sits on a single level, with the performance stage in the center.
- Tiered seating. Elevated banquettes line the back and lower lounge chairs sit up front, so guests throughout the room can see the stage.

Meredith Head, a senior creative director with Walt Disney Imagineering, said sightlines drove the seating plan. The team wanted "everyone having a really great seat in the space" once the stage moved to the middle of the room.
Trivia and bingo until 9 p.m., then live bands for guests 21 and up
The same room serves two crowds each day, and the changeover comes at 9 p.m.
- Family hours. Guests of all ages are welcome from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., when the entertainment is Disney trivia and bingo.
- Adults after nine. From 9 p.m. the lounge is 21 and up only, with live music on the center stage.
- Modern vintage. Sia and the Tin Pan is one of the acts, playing what Disney calls modern vintage.
- Motown hits. Velvet Soul brings a set of Motown songs to the stage.
- Three decades. Velvet Neon covers hits from the '70s, '80s and '90s.

Different acts take the stage on different nights. The room looks vintage, but Christopher Revetria, a producer with Disney Live Entertainment, said the music was chosen to span genres rather than stay in one era.
"When we were thinking about the music and genres we could bring into this space, it really allowed us to open that songbook to allow us to select multiple different genres, like Motown-inspired music, like our modern vintage." (Christopher Revetria, Disney Live Entertainment)
Italian-American small plates and caramel corn drinks
The menu is small bites, cocktails and mocktails, with the food built on Italian-American dishes.
- Small plates. The food list includes Meatballs in Tomato Gravy, Roast Beef Sliders and Antipasto.
- Something sweet. Mini Apple Cider Doughnuts come with a miso-caramel sauce.
- Signature cocktails. Choices include the Mertini, the Road to Fame whiskey sour, The Atlantic Review and a Caramel Corn Old Fashioned.
- Zero-proof picks. The Overture in Orange tastes similar to orange creamsicle ice cream, and the Caramel Corn Cold Brew is also alcohol-free.

The full menu Disney released on September 1 runs to eight small plates, ten specialty cocktails and three specialty non-alcoholic drinks, plus wine and beer. Opening-day coverage did not include prices.
Polly Delmar's career is told in posters and props
Imagineering wrote a fictional history for the venue, and guests follow it as they move through the room.
- Seaside theater. In the backstory, Hurly-Burly was a celebrated seaside theater where vaudeville performers entertained crowds.
- The headliner. Polly Delmar, a fictional vaudeville star, is the performer whose career the displays trace.
- Told in order. Displays of posters and props tell her story chronologically as guests walk through the venue.
- Props from posters. Many objects shown in the poster artwork also appear in the room as physical props.
Head said those props double as hidden details for guests who look closely.
"We have these beautiful posters, but then everything she's holding in the poster is also a prop in the space. Other things that are in the poster also become these hidden Easter eggs around the space." (Meredith Head, Walt Disney Imagineering)
Basin and a quick-service spot are still to come on the BoardWalk
Hurly-Burly is the latest in a run of changes along the BoardWalk, and Disney has announced more.
- Corn dogs. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, a transplant from Disneyland, made its Walt Disney World debut on the BoardWalk in 2024.
- Cake Bake Shop. The Cake Bake Shop then opened a bakery and restaurant on the former site of the ESPN Club sports bar.
- A beauty shop. Basin, a bath and beauty store, is announced for the BoardWalk.
- Quick service. Disney has also announced a quick-service restaurant for the BoardWalk; it has no name or date yet.
- Atlantic Dance Hall. The BoardWalk's dance club ends its regular weekend nights on October 1 and stays open for private events, according to Disney.
No reservations: walk up to the door or the promenade window
Hurly-Burly seats walk-ups only for now, and an outdoor bar serves guests who never step inside.
- No reservations. For now the lounge does not accept reservations, so there is nothing to book in My Disney Experience.
- Outdoor bar. A bar outside the venue has a walk-up window and its own seating.
- Promenade orders. Guests on the BoardWalk promenade can order select items from the menu at that window.
Our take. Families should plan Hurly-Burly between 4 p.m. and 9 p.m., since the room turns 21 and up after that. With no reservations taken, the outdoor window is the fallback for a drink if the room is full.
