Airport Luggage Transfer reaches its first Moderate resort as Caribbean Beach joins the list

Walt Disney World's free Airport Luggage Transfer service added Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort effective August 18, 2026, making it the first Moderate resort eligible and the first hotel added since the program covered all five Value resorts. Six resorts and three airlines are now eligible for the domestic-only service, and Delta still has not been added despite briefly appearing on Disney's site two months ago.

Walt Disney World's free Airport Luggage Transfer service now covers Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort, its first Moderate resort and the first hotel added since the program expanded to all five Value resorts. The change took effect August 18, 2026, bringing the eligible list to six resorts across three airlines.

The airline list is American, Southwest and United. Delta has not been added, despite a brief appearance on Disney's own website roughly two months ago that was then retracted. The same premature-posting pattern preceded the American and United additions, where the site updated a couple of weeks before the official announcement, so Delta's earlier appearance reads more like a scheduling slip than an error. Caribbean Beach arrived instead.

How the service got here

Airport Luggage Transfer returned to Walt Disney World as a pilot in late March 2025, initially at Pop Century only, and expanded to all Value resorts within about a week. For its first several months it was outbound only: guests leaving Walt Disney World could send bags ahead to Orlando International Airport, but arriving guests still collected their own at baggage claim.

Inbound service was added last November, and that is the version that changed trips. Pre-register, check the bags at your home airport, then skip baggage claim at MCO entirely and head straight to the resort. In mid-2026 the airline list grew from Southwest alone to include American and United. Caribbean Beach is the first addition in the roughly three months since.

How it works, arriving and departing

For arrivals, guests register online between 30 and 5 days before the departure flight, using both the Disney Resorts hotel confirmation number and the airline confirmation number. Registering more than 7 days out means luggage tags arrive by mail; registering inside 7 days means no tags, but the bags are still delivered. From there it is check in as normal, pay any airline bag fees, drop the bags at the airline counter, and contact Luggage Assistance at the resort on arrival to retrieve them.

For departures, there is no separate registration. Check in for the flight online starting 24 hours out, pay any bag fees through the airline, then get the bags to Luggage Assistance or Bell Services between 24 and 4 hours before departure. A valid government-issued photo ID and the boarding pass are both required at drop-off. Gratuities for bell services are not included.

Why the Values and now Caribbean Beach

The rollout order is about density, not resort tier prestige. The five Value resorts sit in only two areas of the property and hold over 10,000 rooms between them, which is more than a third of Disney-owned hotel inventory in a tight geographic footprint. Nowhere else at Walt Disney World offers that many rooms that close together, which makes it the cheapest place to prove out a logistics operation.

Caribbean Beach is the logical next step on that same math: a large hotel a short Skyliner hop from Pop Century and Art of Animation. The service itself is operated by BagCheck, a third-party provider that moves the luggage between MCO and the resorts, and the infrastructure behind it sat dormant for over six years after the substantially similar Resort Airline Check-In was discontinued in March 2020. Standing that back up involves Disney cast, BagCheck staff and airport vendors, which is a large part of why the rollout has been measured rather than fast.

What the expansion says about Disney's Magical Express

Luggage handling is the harder half of what Disney's Magical Express used to do. The bus infrastructure still exists; what disappeared was the baggage operation, and that is precisely the piece being rebuilt here. The Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, which runs MCO, has publicly signaled it wants the airport shuttle back and is willing to help fund it, because high-capacity buses relieve pressure on an airport running well past comfortable passenger volume. That is a genuine alignment of interests rather than fan speculation, though Disney has announced nothing.

Port Orleans is the next likely addition, and Delta is still not on the list

Following the density logic, the Port Orleans resorts are the strongest candidate next: two sister properties with a combined room count above 3,000, more than every Disney-owned resort at Crescent Lake put together. Coronado Springs is larger still but skews convention, where guests are less likely to use the service. Riviera sits right next to Caribbean Beach and could be folded in on proximity alone.
