Very Merry Party Dining Is Open for Resort Guests, With The Beak and Barrel and Two Dessert Party Tiers on the List

Walt Disney World has opened dining reservations during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party to guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel, and there is more on the list than in past years. Four Magic Kingdom table-service restaurants take reservations during party hours this year: Be Our Guest Restaurant, Cinderella's Royal Table, The Plaza Restaurant and, for the first time, The Beak and Barrel. Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party is also back at Tomorrowland Terrace in two versions, and the cheaper one does not let you stay in your seat for the fireworks. Resort guests have been able to book since September 3. Everyone else can from September 9.

Key Details

The restaurant lineup, and the new addition

Be Our Guest Restaurant and Cinderella's Royal Table return to the party lineup, the two most sought-after reservations in the park on any night of the year, let alone a decorated one. The Plaza Restaurant and The Beak and Barrel, the pirate tavern in Adventureland, join them.

The Beak and Barrel is the interesting entry. A fourth venue widens a list that has historically been very short, and it does so with a room whose character is nothing like a castle dining hall or the Beast's ballroom. It also adds capacity to a booking pool that has been punishingly small in past years. If you have tried and failed to get party dining before, a fourth door improves your odds.

Two dessert parties, and the difference is where you watch

Both versions of Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party include festive desserts at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant and reserved viewing of Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. What separates them is what happens when the show starts.

The version Disney lists as the Tomorrowland Terrace party keeps you at your table on the terrace, watching from what its listing calls a reserved seating area. The Plaza Garden Viewing version moves you out to a reserved standing area in the Plaza Garden once the dessert portion wraps. Disney's listings do not show a price for either yet. In the seasons both have been offered, the seated Terrace party has carried the higher price and the Plaza Garden version has been the cheaper way in.

That is a bigger distinction than it sounds. The Tomorrowland Terrace sits east of Cinderella Castle with an angled view, and staying seated means you keep a table, a chair and somewhere to put a plate for the duration. The Plaza Garden gives you a more head-on view of the castle from the hub, but you are standing in a roped area with a crowd. Which one is worth the difference depends on whether you are travelling with people who need to sit down late in the evening.

The fine print is the same for both. Check-in is at the entrance to Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant one hour before the fireworks, where guests receive the credentials that get them into the viewing area, and Disney asks guests to reconfirm the fireworks time in the park's Times Guide on the day. The party is priced in three age bands, 10 and over, 3 to 9, and 0 to 2, and dietary restrictions go in at booking. It runs rain or shine, even if the fireworks are delayed or cancelled. There is a one-day cancellation policy, with the full price charged for a late cancellation or a no-show, and the Plaza Garden version cannot be modified once it is confirmed.

You still need a party ticket

This is the point that trips up first-timers every year. A valid ticket to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party is required to dine at any of these restaurants during party hours, and Disney's dessert party listings say the same thing: a ticket for the same night is required and is not included in the price. A party dining reservation is not a way into the event. It is something you add once you already hold a ticket.

The practical sequence is therefore: buy the party ticket for the night you want, then book the dining for that night. Anyone booking a table before securing a ticket is building a plan on a night they may not be able to attend. Party tickets for the most popular December dates sell out, and a dessert party reservation will not save you if the night itself is gone.

The Buzz

Dining during a hard-ticket party is one of the most efficient plays at Magic Kingdom: the park runs at reduced capacity, the holiday overlay is up, and a table at Cinderella's Royal Table or Be Our Guest during party hours is far easier to secure than the same table on a normal evening. The lineup growing to four restaurants, with a first-time participant among them, gives guests a real second chance at a booking window that has historically closed in minutes. The dessert party detail matters because the two Tomorrowland Terrace tiers are back, and the difference between them buys a seat rather than a better view.

How the two-tier booking window works

Booking follows Disney's usual structure favouring guests staying on property. Since September 3, 2026, Disney Resort hotel guests have been able to make dining reservations at any of the four restaurants, and for either dessert party, up to 60 days in advance of their arrival date, and that window covers the entire length of a stay up to 10 nights. This is the same rolling 60+10 arrangement that governs Advance Dining Reservations generally, and it is a substantial advantage: a resort guest arriving later in the season can book their whole trip's party dining on day one.

All other guests wait until September 9, 2026. That six-day gap is the entire structural advantage of staying on property for this particular booking, and on the most competitive nights it is decisive. Because the resort-guest window rolls with arrival dates rather than opening on a single morning, the best nights will already be thinning by the time general booking opens.

This mirrors how tickets themselves were released: select resort guests received early access on July 9, ahead of the general public sale on July 16. Dining reservations follow the same pattern.

What the party itself involves

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party runs 25 select nights from November 8 through December 22, 2026. Disney's listings give the dates as November 8, 9, 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 24, 25, 27 and 29, and December 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 20 and 22. Official hours are 7:00pm to midnight, with 4:00pm early entry for ticket holders. That three-hour head start before the party officially begins is the most underused benefit of the whole event; ticket holders are in the park while regular day guests are still there, and the park empties out around them at 7:00pm.

Anyone building a party evening around a table-service meal should factor that in. Dining during the party costs you time inside the event's five official hours; dining during the 4:00pm to 7:00pm early-entry window costs you far less of what you paid for. The dessert parties are the exception, since they are timed to the fireworks and cannot be moved earlier.

September 9 is the date to diarise

Everything here comes down to two mornings, and one of them has already happened. If you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel, your window is open, and you can book across your whole stay in one sitting. If you are not, it is September 9. Have your party ticket in hand, know which of the four restaurants you want and which is your fallback, and decide which of the two Tomorrowland Terrace options you want, because the cheaper one is not simply the same experience for less money. Cinderella's Royal Table and Be Our Guest will not last long on the busiest December nights.
