The Buzz
Guests heading back to their hotel at the end of the night tend to walk to the dock they remember, and after this swap that habit leads to the wrong boat.
Which Magic Kingdom boat dock serves each resort now
Each pair of resorts still shares one dock; only the docks have changed hands.
- Four resorts. Resort launches link Magic Kingdom with the Grand Floridian, the Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness, for now.
- Dock 2 signs. A Resort Launches sign hangs under a numbered 2 Boat Dock marker, above a sign naming Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness Campground.
- Landmark nearby. The Resort Monorail sign sits just past the dock 2 entrance.
- Entrance-side dock. The Grand Floridian and Polynesian dock sits under a canopy with numbered Entrance 2 and Entrance 3 gates.
- Its sign. A hanging sign there names both resorts, with a long pier stretching toward the water behind the gates.

Before the change, Grand Floridian and Polynesian boats used dock 2, and Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness boats loaded across from the entrance.
Why the docks swapped is still unknown
Disney has not explained the move, and nearby ferryboat dock construction may be a factor.
- No reason given. It is unclear why the docks swapped or whether the change is permanent.
- Dock expansion. Work on the Magic Kingdom ferryboat dock expansion began in June 2026.
- Walls and a barge. Construction walls and a barge in Seven Seas Lagoon now sit along the guest walkway.
- Fourth ferryboat. Disney says Magic Kingdom's fourth ferryboat, the Meg Gilbert Crofton, debuts in 2027.
Our take. Leaving Magic Kingdom by boat, read the hanging signs before you queue: Grand Floridian and Polynesian guests now board across from the entrance, and Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness guests head to dock 2.
