Disney turns a rained-out Not-So-Scary night into 1-day Park Hopper tickets
After rain hit the October 8 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World automatically converted that night's party tickets into 1-day Park Hopper tickets. They are valid for one year from the event date and need a theme park reservation.

Walt Disney World has turned the October 8 Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party tickets into 1-day Park Hopper tickets after rain soaked the night at Magic Kingdom. Disney made the switch on its own, so guests did not have to ask for a rain check.

Key Details
- Party night: Thursday, October 8, 2026
- New ticket: 1-day ticket with Park Hopper option, valid at any Walt Disney World theme park
- Valid until: One year from the event date, which points to October 8, 2027
The Buzz
Rain checks for Disney's after-hours parties have usually meant a conversation at Guest Relations, so an automatic conversion for a whole night's guests is a change from past practice.
What Disney gave October 8 party guests
Disney sent ticket holders a message converting their party ticket into a full park day.
- The apology. Disney's message opens: "We apologize for the inconvenience this evening."
- Four parks. The ticket covers Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom, with hopping between them on the same day.
- No transfers. The ticket and its options are nontransferable and nonrefundable.
- Not a ticket itself. The message itself is not valid for admission to any park.
Central Florida had an extra-rainy stretch in the days before the party, and the October 8 event took the brunt of it.
How Disney has handled rained-out parties before
Past weather problems were settled one guest at a time, or with refunds when a party was canceled.
- 2022 rain checks. When weather disrupted a party in August 2022, the options were a rain check for another party, a single-day ticket or, rarely, a refund.
- Guest Relations. Guests who felt the weather had spoiled their night took it up with Guest Relations case by case.
- Hurricane Helene. Disney canceled the September 26, 2024 party ahead of Hurricane Helene and refunded tickets.
- Longer hours. Magic Kingdom's regular hours were extended that day.
Converting every ticket at once also spares Guest Relations the long lines that case-by-case rain checks would have caused.
Use the Not-So-Scary rain check by October 8, 2027
The converted ticket has a deadline and a booking step.
- Book a park. A theme park reservation is required, so book one before you go.
- This trip or next. The one-year window leaves room to use the day on the current vacation or on a later trip.
- Other bad nights. If weather wipes out shows, the parade or fireworks at a special event, a polite word with Guest Relations is still the move.

Our take. If you were at the October 8 party, watch for the new 1-day ticket on your Disney account and book a park reservation well before October 8, 2027, since the ticket cannot be transferred or refunded.
