What Six Ravens is
Six Ravens has been in development for several years and takes over the former Art of Shaving storefront, a short walk from the existing Gideon's Bakehouse location. It is a quick-service counter rather than a sit-down restaurant, built around a single idea: the Coffyn.
A Coffyn is closer to a hand pie than a sandwich. The fillings are the sort that would normally go between two slices of bread, but they are enclosed on every side by a house-made yeast roll, which makes the whole thing portable in a way a stacked sandwich is not. The name is historical rather than macabre: in medieval and Tudor English cooking, a coffyn was the pastry case that held a filling, a baked shell that worked as cookware and container at once, and the word meant a box long before it meant anything funereal.
The restaurant's name comes from the Tower of London, where six ravens are kept under a legend that the kingdom falls if the birds ever leave.
The Coffyn menu and prices
Six Coffyns are on the menu at opening, each at $10.96, and each paired with a dipping sauce developed with a Central Florida restaurant rather than an in-house test kitchen.
- The Peasant's Patty, a classic cheeseburger with American cheese and dill pickle bits. Sauce collaboration with The Pink Salamander
- The Villain of Valentina, basil pesto chicken, balsamic tomatoes and garlic. Collaboration with Pizza Bruno
- The Wizard's Wonder, mac and cheese, pickled poblano peppers and BBQ pulled pork. Collaboration with Smoke and Donuts
- The Imperial Idol, mildly spicy chicken with potato and carrot coconut curry. Collaboration with Red Panda Noodle
- The Moreish Monk, grilled cheese with Vermont white cheddar, Havarti and house tomato jam
- The Forager's Find, spiced roasted sweet potatoes, black bean corn salsa and queso cotija
One item is missing at opening. The Rooster's Roar, the breakfast Coffyn, is not available yet. The rest of the menu is confirmed as listed.
Sides, sweets and what is on tap
- Tell Tale Tatties, $8.66, baked smashed potatoes with honey mustard
- The Tart's Tempest, $7.66, a Gideon's chocolate chip cookie tart with chocolate fudge and raspberry jam
- The Friar's Fault, $6.96, house tap root beer
- Assorted fountain beverages, $3.66
- Local craft beers, $9.66, from The Ravenous Pig, The Crooked Can and Sideward Brewing
The drinks list is short by Disney Springs standards, and it reads as a decision rather than an oversight: root beer on tap, fountain drinks, and three Orlando-area breweries. The Tell Tale Tatties, a smashed potato side, has been the item most often called out by early guests alongside the Coffyns themselves.
Opening day, and then day two
Six Ravens soft opened on Monday with a virtual queue in place to manage demand, and dozens of parties joined it that first day. On Tuesday the picture changed. Only a few groups joined the queue in the morning, and they were called back quickly. The physical line had space in it, which meant the virtual queue was not really doing anything.
That drop is normal for a Walt Disney World opening. Day one draws locals, annual passholders and anyone who plans a trip around a debut; day two is whoever happened to be at Disney Springs. Crowds tend to build again into the evening as local guests finish work.
Soft opening means hours and availability can change without notice, and the experience is not necessarily what it will be at a full opening. Disney has not announced a grand opening date, and the restaurant is operating daily while it ramps up.
The Buzz
The Gideon's Bakehouse queue has been part of the Disney Springs routine since 2020, so a savoury restaurant from the same team opening a few doors away came with an assumption about waits. Two days in, that assumption has not held: the virtual queue built for opening day was already surplus by Tuesday morning. Whether that is the rush settling or the format simply moving faster than a cookie counter is the thing guests are now watching.
What this means for guests
Right now Six Ravens is walk-up. There is no reservation to chase, the queue is short outside peak evening hours, and $10.96 for a filled roll puts it at the lower end of Disney Springs quick service. Disney lists the restaurant at 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily, though soft-opening hours can run shorter, and Disney Dining Plan meals are not accepted, so a Coffyn is an out-of-pocket purchase for guests on a plan. Anyone hoping for the breakfast Coffyn will need to wait for the grand opening, which does not yet have a date.
