Imagineering turns Tom Morrow 2.0 into merch with a new Imagineer That! collection at D23
Disney Parks revealed an Imagineer That! merchandise collection inspired by Tom Morrow 2.0, the robot host of Walt Disney Imagineering's explainer series, coming to Mickey's of Glendale at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in August. Walt Disney Imagineering is turning its own explainer series into merchandise. What Disney announced
The reveal came from the official Disney Parks account on X, which said the Imagineer That! collection is coming to Mickey's of Glendale at D23 and attached four photos of the merchandise. The post credits Tom Morrow 2.0 as the inspiration, tying the line directly to the Imagineering video series he hosts rather than to an attraction or a film.

What is in the line
The piece drawing the most attention is a customizable bag from Lug, the quilted travel accessory brand Disney has worked with before on park exclusives. It arrives in purple with a yellow Tom Morrow inspired logo, and the straps and coin purses are interchangeable, so shoppers can build a combination rather than buy a fixed configuration.
Apparel makes up most of the rest of what has been shown so far:
- A purple jersey with the Imagineer That! logo across the chest, cut from moisture wicking fabric styled after athletic jerseys
- A button down shirt printed edge to edge with Imagineering artwork and Tom Morrow 2.0 details
- A navy T-shirt featuring the robot host in his retro futuristic look
- Baseball caps, a water bottle, additional tees, lanyards, coin purses, and other small accessories

Disney has not published a price list, a piece by piece catalog, or designer credits for the collection, and the X post does not name the Imagineers who worked on it. Anyone budgeting for the event is working from the photos until the store opens.

Who Tom Morrow 2.0 is
Tom Morrow 2.0 is a small animatronic host who first appeared at Innoventions at Epcot, where he greeted guests through the 2000s. Imagineering revived him for Imagineer That!, a series on the Walt Disney Imagineering YouTube channel in which he puts fan questions to the designers, engineers, and artists who build the parks.
Episodes have covered how Imagineers build convincing mountains, how trackless ride vehicles are controlled, how scent gets engineered into a show, and how nighttime parade music and lighting stay in sync. A merchandise line built around the host is an unusual move for Disney, which normally reserves collections for characters, attractions, or anniversaries rather than a behind the scenes explainer format.

How Mickey's of Glendale works at D23
Mickey's of Glendale sits on the Walt Disney Imagineering campus in Glendale, California, and is normally closed to the public. Its D23 pop-up is one of the few times a general audience can buy from it, which is why it draws some of the longest lines on the show floor.
Disney says the store is open to all badge holding attendees, with no separate ticket or upcharge. Entry runs through a virtual queue in the Disney D23 app or the Disneyland Resort app, with queues opening at 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. Pacific on each day of the event. Guests need to be within roughly 90 miles of the convention center to join, parties are capped at two people, and only one queue can be held at a time. When boarding groups are used up, a standby line opens. The store is cashless and takes card or contactless payment, with merchandise mobile checkout available for scanning items into a virtual bag.
The rest of the Mickey's of Glendale slate
Imagineer That! is one of several collections Imagineering is bringing to the event. Disney has also revealed a Walt Disney Imagineering Color Block line of apparel, pins, and accessories built on the department's house palette, a collection inspired by the comic book world of The Sorcerer's Apprentice, an Imagineer Spotlight range featuring designs from seven Imagineers, a Duffy and Friends collection, and a Muppets Studio signature line anchored by a customizable denim jacket.
The store also runs daily pin drops with a different lineup each day. Published pin lists for the event put most sets between roughly $35 and $80, with limited pieces such as a six pin Royal Carousel Horses set at $324.95 and an ultra jumbo World Princess Week pin at $1,200. Tom Morrow 2.0 shows up there too, inside the Disney Park Stamps Series 2 set at $34.95.
What this means for D23 shoppers
Fans who want the Imagineer That! pieces should plan around the queue rather than the merchandise. Mickey's of Glendale is one of the hardest rooms to get into at D23, boarding groups fill quickly at the 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. drops, and the collection has no confirmed life beyond the three day event. Anyone hoping for prices or a wider release will have to wait for Disney to say more. Full shopping rules and store details are posted at D23.com.
