Magic Kingdom: castle lighting, a parade swap, and the Jingle Cruise
Main Street, U.S.A. gets the heaviest decorating job at Walt Disney World, and the sightline to Cinderella Castle is where most guests start working through the holiday bucket list.

"Frozen Holiday Surprise!"
Guests can join Frozen friends from Arendelle as Olaf and more than 100 of his snowgie siblings add garlands, ornaments, and wreaths to Cinderella Castle during "Frozen Holiday Surprise!" With appearances from Anna and Kristoff, and a magical moment from Elsa as she transforms the castle into a glowing ice palace, it's a dazzling nighttime experience.
It plays out at the castle rather than as a park wide nighttime spectacular, so it is easy to pair with something else in the evening.
Guests can also catch Elsa and other Disney characters in Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away, a parade performed twice each evening (subject to cancellation). Note that Disney Starlight does not run on nights when Magic Kingdom hosts Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party; on those evenings, the classic Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade takes its place. On non-party nights, Disney Starlight continues throughout the season. That swap is the most useful scheduling fact in the announcement: guests who specifically want Disney Starlight need a non party night, and guests who want the Christmastime parade need a party ticket.
Stunning holiday decor across the park
Magic Kingdom is home to some of the most iconic holiday photo spots at Walt Disney World. With jolly trimmings along Main Street, U.S.A. and throughout the park, guests can capture Christmas-card-worthy shots at landmarks like Cinderella Castle, TRON Lightcycle / Run, Space Mountain, and the Haunted Mansion.

The Jingle Cruise returns
The Jingle Cruise returns in 2026 for a festive-yet-familiar adventure as trusty skippers navigate guests through some of the world's most treacherous waters. Riders can expect plenty of holiday themed gags along the 10 minute, 10,000 mile journey, and the overlay starts before boarding: skippers decorate the loading area with lights, sights and sounds, and the Jungle Navigation Company backstory picks up its own set of hidden holiday details worth reading while the line moves.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party
On select nights, guests can celebrate at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, a separately ticketed event at Magic Kingdom featuring festive entertainment, overlays on classic rides, a storybook holiday atmosphere, and complimentary sweet treats.
Party nights also pull Disney Starlight out of the regular lineup, so they are worth pinning down early in the planning process.
EPCOT: 34 days of holiday traditions from around the world
The EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth runs November 27 through December 30, 2026, a 34 day window that needs no ticket beyond park admission. The festival is built on World Showcase, pairing holiday traditions from the countries around the lagoon with seasonal food and beverage marketplaces and live entertainment, which is the reason many guests book an EPCOT day in December at all. At just over a month it is the shortest of the resort's major holiday runs, so a trip landing before Thanksgiving will find the rest of Walt Disney World decorated and this festival not yet open. Disney has not published the 2026 marketplace lineup or menu pricing; those usually arrive in the Disney Eats Foodie Guide closer to opening, which is also when festival dining package reservations tend to go live.

Hollywood Studios: projections, a sing along, and a holiday buffet
Whether guests are strolling down Sunset Boulevard to "Cool Yule," browsing Mickey's of Hollywood, or snapping a photo with Gertie at Echo Lake, Disney's Hollywood Studios delivers retro holiday charm.
Disney Jollywood Nights, the park's separately ticketed after hours event, returns for the season as well.

"Sunset Seasons Greetings"
After dark, "Sunset Seasons Greetings" returns with projections that wrap the Hollywood Tower Hotel and rebuild it four different ways: a Muppets gingerbread masterpiece, a Toy Story toy hotel, a snowy corner of Arendelle, and a Dickensian village from Mickey's Christmas Carol. The show repeats through the evening, so there is no single showtime to plan around.
"For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration"
Inside the Hyperion Theater, the Royal Historians of Arendelle recount their enchanted kingdom's frosty story while guests sing along to projected lyrics. Anna, Elsa, and Kristoff join in for celebratory songs and an unforgettable finale featuring Olaf.
Toy Story Land and Minnie's Holiday Dine
Vintage decor covers Echo Lake and Sunset Boulevard, but the up close version is in Andy's backyard. Toy Story Land scales its seasonal decorations to match, and Woody, Jessie and Buzz Lightyear meet guests in their holiday best.

Walt Disney Presents adds a holiday film program
Guests can spot Minnie Mouse and friends in seasonal style at Hollywood & Vine during Minnie's Holiday Dine, a festive character meal with selections like oven-roasted herbed chicken, carved beef tenderloin, seared salmon, spice-rubbed pork loin, and a plant-based roasted mushroom-farro risotto, plus showstopping desserts. Advance reservations are strongly recommended, and same day bookings open on a limited basis and depend entirely on availability, which is thin in December. Walt Disney Presents shines for the season with a holiday installation of props and artifacts, and a theater that switches to a limited time program of shorts: Walt Disney's On Ice, Pluto's Christmas Tree and The Art of Skiing starring Goofy. It is also an air conditioned place to sit down in the middle of a peak season park day.
Animal Kingdom: puppets on Discovery Island and an artist in residence
Animal Kingdom does not restyle itself as heavily as the other parks, so the seasonal additions concentrate on Discovery Island. The ride lineup runs as usual, including Expedition Everest and its speeding train past snow capped Himalayan peaks, and characters appear in festive attire.

Merry Menagerie and Rob Kaz
Artisan sculpted puppets of arctic animals come to life around Discovery Island during the Merry Menagerie, where guests can spot penguins, reindeer, foxes and polar bears amid the holiday decor, handled by performers who work them through the crowd rather than staging a set show. Original artwork from artist Rob Kaz will be available at Island Mercantile throughout the season, with Kaz greeting guests there from November 1 through November 22.

"Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition"
After sunset, the park's centerpiece comes alive with the "Tree of Life Awakenings Holiday Edition": bright colors, animated imagery and a seasonal score, repeating roughly every 10 minutes until park close, which makes it one of the easier evening shows to catch without rearranging a day. Over at Adventurers Outpost, globetrotting Mickey and Minnie Mouse pose for photos in their holiday best.

Disney Springs: tree stroll, snowfall, and no ticket required
Disney Springs is the only holiday venue on this list that costs nothing to enter, which is why it fills up on arrival and departure days. It is also the shopping stop, with classic Disney merchandise, restaurants, family friendly activities and live entertainment throughout the holidays.

The Christmas Tree Stroll and nightly snowfall
The popular Disney Springs Christmas Tree Stroll presented by AdventHealth features extravagantly decorated trees inspired by Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars favorites, including a returning Toy Story-themed tree. Once the tree hunt is done, guests can catch magical nightly snowfall in the Town Center.
Jock Lindsey's holiday bar
As the story goes, Indiana Jones and pilot Jock Lindsey stumbled on Disney Springs in 1938. Today, families soak up the rugged charm of the Holiday Overlay at Jock Lindsey's Hangar Bar, which serves seasonal bites, brews, and libations among spare airplane parts and salvaged equipment.

Live music at the Waterside Stage
On select nights a rotating lineup of regional and local bands plays the AdventHealth Waterside Stage with first come, first served seating, backed by roaming entertainment through the district. Joffrey's coffee is nearby and The Daily Poutine is a few steps away, which covers most of what a cool Florida evening requires. Disney's Days of Christmas and World of Disney carry the seasonal collections.
Where to find Santa Claus
Between North Pole duties, Santa Claus visits all four theme parks to meet guests on the nice list, and he stops by Disney Springs through December 24 for festive photos and holiday wishes. Times and locations vary by day and are not published as a fixed schedule, so the My Disney Experience app is the place to check on the morning of a visit.

Resort hotel decor is open to more than hotel guests
More than 25 hotels make up the Disney Resorts Collection, and the lobby displays are one of the few holiday traditions that reward guests who are not staying on property: Disney extends them to anyone with a valid dining reservation. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort does a tropical version of Christmas and Disney's BoardWalk Inn does a seaside one, and the deluxe resorts along the monorail and Crescent Lake sit close enough together to see several in one evening. Seasonal treats and drinks turn up at hotels across the collection, with specific menus usually published closer to the season through Disney Eats.

Read the windows carefully. The Annual Passholder and general public offers cover a continuous run from October 4 to December 24, while the Disney+ and Florida resident deals are split into discrete blocks that skip the first half of November and the week of Thanksgiving.
What this means for holiday trips
The dates are the useful part of this announcement. A trip built around EPCOT's festival has a 34 day window that closes December 30, while the decorations stay up a week longer, through January 6. The first week of January runs quieter than the last two weeks of December with the full holiday layer still in place, which is the trade guests make when they cannot travel before Christmas.
The passholder and Florida resident discounts cut the deepest, and the passholder rate covers the entire October 4 through December 24 window. Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and Disney Jollywood Nights each need their own ticket on their own date, so settle those before the room. Full details are at DisneyWorld.com/Holidays and DisneyWorld.com/Offers.
