Disney's Lakeshore Lodge bookings open October 6, ahead of its July 1, 2027 opening on Bay Lake
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge opens July 1, 2027 on Bay Lake near Magic Kingdom, and reservations open in three waves: Disney Vacation Club members on October 6, Annual Passholders on October 7 and everyone else on October 8. The 967-room resort is the first all-new Walt Disney World hotel since the Riviera in 2019.
Disney's Lakeshore Lodge now has a firm opening date of July 1, 2027, and the booking window opens next week. Disney Vacation Club members go first on October 6, Annual Passholders follow on October 7 and the general public can book from October 8. The 967-room resort sits on Bay Lake in the Magic Kingdom resort area of Walt Disney World.

The Buzz
WFTV Channel 9 in Orlando reported the opening date and the three booking days, and the dates are now circulating among fans planning 2027 trips. For many, it is the first time Lakeshore Lodge has been something they can actually reserve rather than follow on construction updates.
The first all-new Walt Disney World hotel since 2019
Lakeshore Lodge ends a long gap in new resort construction and a project history that stretches back to 2018.
- Since the Riviera. It will be the first entirely new hotel at Walt Disney World since Disney's Riviera Resort opened in December 2019.
- A first name. Disney announced the project in 2018 as Reflections: A Disney Lakeside Lodge.
- Paused by COVID. Construction started in 2019 and stopped during the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Revived in 2024. Disney restarted the project and announced the Lakeshore Lodge name in 2024.
- River Country site. The resort is going up where River Country stood; that was Disney's first water park, and it closed in 2001.
That site gives the resort a direct view across Bay Lake, the same water the Contemporary and Wilderness Lodge sit on, and it is why Disney can promise fireworks views from some rooms.
From duo studios to Lake Houses: rooms themed to five Disney films
The room list runs from two-person studios to grand villas for 12, each type with its own film theme.
- Smallest room. Duo studios sleep two guests.
- Largest room. Three-bedroom grand villas sleep up to 12, and their artwork is inspired by Fantasia.
- Lake Houses. Freestanding one- and two-bedroom Lake Houses have A-frame architecture, waterfront porches, full kitchens and Brother Bear artwork.
- Bambi rooms. Deluxe studios and the larger villas carry design elements from Bambi.
- Five films. Across the resort, the rooms draw on Bambi, Brother Bear, Encanto, Fantasia and Pocahontas.
- Fireworks views. Select rooms will look out on the Magic Kingdom fireworks.
Moonglade, Bay Lake Provisions and a lazy river
The resort opens with three places to eat and a pool area built for families.
- Moonglade. A table-service restaurant on the waterfront.
- Bay Lake Provisions. An all-day marketplace for quick meals and grab-and-go items.
- Paint Out Point. Paint Out Point Bar and Grill sits near the pool.
- Pool features. Plans include a zero-entry pool, a waterslide, a lazy river and children's play areas.
- Bay Lake lounge. A lounge overlooks Bay Lake.
Booking days: October 6, 7 and 8
Who you are decides which of the three days you can book, so check your status before October 6.
- DVC first. Disney Vacation Club members get the first shot through early rental reservations.
- Passholders next. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders get one day of access ahead of everyone else.
- Everyone else. The general public can book from the third day.
- DVC preview stay. Separately, DVC's First Wave preview runs June 24 to 27, 2027, with phone booking from November 7, 2026, as we reported in September.
Our take. Fireworks-view rooms and the Lake Houses are the likeliest to go fast. If you hold an Annual Pass, October 7 is your best day; everyone else should be ready on the morning of October 8 with dates and a backup room type.
