Who can book, and when
The rollout runs over three days, and each group has its own channel. Disney Vacation Club members go first on March 19 by phone to Member Services. Annual Passholders follow on March 20 through the central reservations line. Everyone else joins on March 21, and that is the first day the cabins can be booked online rather than by phone.
The cabins sit in the wooded loops of Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, the campground property that has been part of Walt Disney World since 1971. Each one-bedroom cabin villa is built to give guests indoor comfort on a site that still functions as a campground, which is a combination no other Walt Disney World hotel offers.
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue turns 50
Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is the longest-running live show at Walt Disney World and celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024. The dinner show pairs the Pioneer Players with an all-you-care-to-enjoy meal at Pioneer Hall, and it books out far in advance. Reservations are the difference between seeing it and hearing about it.
More than 90 horses at Tri-Circle-D Ranch
More than 90 horses from across the Walt Disney World theme parks live at Fort Wilderness, from the ponies that pull Cinderella's carriage to the Headless Horseman's mount. The Settlement area barn is open for self-guided touring daily at no charge, with cast members on hand to talk about the animals.
Guided trail rides and family carriage rides can be reserved online or through the My Disney Experience app. Pony rides and wagon rides are walk-up only.
Water, trails and archery
Kayak and canoe rentals open up the resort waterways, and guided catch-and-release bass fishing runs year-round for all ages. On land there are jogging routes through the meadows and cypress groves, plus the Fort Wilderness Archery Experience, a family-friendly class that also takes advance reservations. Playgrounds, pools and sports facilities round out what is available without booking anything.
Campfire nights with Chip 'n' Dale
Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-Along runs every night with a singing cowboy, country songs, marshmallow roasting and a Disney film screened outdoors. It is included for guests staying at the resort. S'mores kits are sold at the Chuckwagon Snack Bar, or guests can bring their own marshmallows and sticks.
