What the figurine looks like

The pumpkin is a Mickey head in profile: a round pumpkin body with two smaller pumpkin ears. The glass is a metallic orange that catches light, and it is molded with the vertical ridges of a real pumpkin. Silver eyes, a silver nose and a wide silver smile turn it into a cheerful jack-o'-lantern rather than a scary one. The back is plain and the center is hollow, so it is designed to face forward on a shelf or mantel, not to be viewed in the round. At $39 it sits at the low end of the Arribas price range, where most of the hand-cut crystal pieces run well into the hundreds.

The design will look familiar to anyone who has walked Main Street in the fall. Magic Kingdom's Halloween decorations lean on Mickey-shaped jack-o'-lanterns, from the pumpkins on the lampposts to the bunting along the street, and this figurine is a take-home version of that face.

Arribas Brothers at Walt Disney World

Arribas Brothers has been a glass and crystal partner of the Disney parks since 1967, when the Arribas family began cutting crystal at Disneyland. At Walt Disney World the company runs Crystal Arts on Main Street, where glassblowers work in the shop's back room, as well as its Disney Springs Marketplace store and other locations around the resort. Its catalog runs from a few dollars for a glass ornament to thousands for a lit crystal castle, and the seasonal figurines are the entry point for most guests.

The Crystal Arts counter is the one place the pumpkin has been confirmed so far. Arribas Brothers has not said how many were made or whether its other resort locations will carry it.

The Buzz

Halloween merchandise at Walt Disney World is dominated by spirit jerseys, ears and loungefly bags, so a small glass piece under $40 from the parks' longtime crystal maker stands out. It is also the rare Arribas item that is an impulse buy rather than a splurge, which is why it has been passed around by collectors building out fall shelves.

$39, Crystal Arts, while the fall stock lasts

The glass Mickey pumpkin is available now at Crystal Arts on Main Street, U.S.A. for $39. Guests who want one should look for it there first, or ask at one of the other Arribas Brothers locations around the resort. Seasonal glass pieces sell through, and Arribas has not said whether more will be produced.
