Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets gets a holiday overlay with four new songs
From November 4 through January 6, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney's Hollywood Studios becomes the Obligatory Holiday Overlay. The Electric Mayhem plays a four-song holiday set with guest vocals from Jennifer Hudson, Cyndi Lauper, Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear.

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets at Disney's Hollywood Studios turns festive from November 4 through January 6. Disney calls the limited-time version the Obligatory Holiday Overlay, and it gives The Electric Mayhem, the Muppets' house band, a new holiday set list for the ride.

Key Details
- When: November 4, 2026 to January 6, 2027
- Where: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, Disney's Hollywood Studios
- Official name: Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets: Obligatory Holiday Overlay
- New songs: Four holiday tracks
Holiday music starts outside G-Force Records
The overlay begins in the courtyard, before guests even reach the recording studio where the queue is set.
- Courtyard soundtrack. Festive music now fills the courtyard around the attraction's guitar marquee outside G-Force Records, the fictional recording studio that houses the queue.
- Band in rehearsal. Inside, Dr. Teeth, Animal, Floyd, Janice, Zoot and Lips are rehearsing for their holiday spectacular.
- Visiting Muppets. A few familiar Muppets stop by the studio to help the band finish its seasonal set list, or at least try to.

This is The Electric Mayhem, so the holiday preparations do not go to plan as showtime gets closer. Disney leans into it: the headliners are better known for rocking out than for keeping to a schedule.
Scooter's Audio-Animatronics figure gets the band to the show
Scooter, the Muppets' harried stage manager, is the one trying to get the band across town to its own concert.
- First Scooter figure. The attraction features the first Audio-Animatronics figure ever made of Scooter.
- Built from motion capture. Walt Disney Imagineering recorded and tracked a performance by Scooter the Muppet to program a figure that moves and emotes the way he does.
- Penguin sound crew. Scooter is helped by a team of audio engineers, all of them penguins.
- The ride vehicle. Riders board the Lengthy Immediate Motion Object, or L.I.M.O., a Muppet Labs invention waiting in the alley behind Studio C.

The question the pre-show poses is whether Scooter can stop the band jamming and get it on stage before its increasingly restless fans give up.
The four-song holiday set list
The Electric Mayhem brings four holiday tracks to the ride, three of them with guest performers.
- Holiday Road. The Electric Mayhem with Kermit the Frog and Fozzie Bear.
- Christmas (Baby Please Come Home). The Electric Mayhem featuring Jennifer Hudson.
- Silver Bells. The Electric Mayhem featuring Cyndi Lauper.
- Little Saint Nick. The Electric Mayhem on its own.
Disney describes each track as a mix of holiday cheer, high-energy riffs and rock star attitude, staged as a concert played out along the coaster track.
The overlay runs November 4 to January 6
This is a limited run of about nine weeks that covers the whole holiday season.
- First day. The holiday version of the ride begins November 4.
- Last day. It runs through January 6, after the New Year holiday.
- Still unknown. Disney has not said whether the overlay will return in future holiday seasons.
Our take. The overlay opens November 4, weeks ahead of the late December holiday rush, so early November is the easier window for riding it more than once to hear the new set.
