The Disney Wish Sails from New York in Fall 2027, and Disney Destiny Home Ports at Port Canaveral for the First Time

Disney Cruise Line has released its Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 itineraries. The Disney Wish moves to New York for seven voyages after its first European season, sailing to Bermuda and to New England and Canada. The Disney Destiny home ports at Port Canaveral for the first time, the Disney Magic transits the Panama Canal twice, and the Disney Adventure adds Langkawi, Malaysia. Booking opens August 31 for select Castaway Club members.

Disney Cruise Line has released its Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 itineraries, and the biggest move on the board is a return to New York City. The Disney Wish will sail from New York for seven voyages beginning in late September 2027, straight off the ship's first season in Europe. Behind it, the Disney Destiny picks up a Port Canaveral home port for the first time and the Disney Magic transits the Panama Canal twice.

The Disney Wish takes over New York

The Wish arrives in New York in late September 2027 after finishing its inaugural European season, and it will run seven voyages of four to seven nights from the city. Five of those sail to Bermuda, and three of the five stretch the visit by an extra day so guests get a second full day on the island rather than a single port morning.

The rest of the New York run heads north. Disney Cruise Line will sail from New York to New England and Canada's Atlantic coast for the first time in nearly four years, timed to the autumn colour along the coastline. For families in the Northeast, that is the difference between booking flights to Florida and driving to the pier, which is the practical argument for a New York season in the first place.

San Juan gets two ships, and the Magic crosses Panama twice

Puerto Rico picks up more sailings across both seasons. The Disney Wish and the Disney Fantasy will both work out of San Juan in Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 on five to seven night Southern and Eastern Caribbean itineraries, using the island's position to reach ports that are a long haul from Florida.

The Disney Magic, meanwhile, makes two repositioning crossings of the Panama Canal, one in each season, at 14 nights apiece. Each crossing includes a maiden call: Fuerte Amador, the port for Panama City, on the eastbound sailing, and Colon, on the Caribbean side of the canal, on the westbound. Long repositioning cruises are the cheapest way to buy sea days on a Disney ship, and the canal transit itself takes most of a day on deck.

Five ships work out of Florida, and the Destiny joins them

Florida carries the weight of the season, with five ships split between Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale.

• The Disney Destiny opens the season in Fort Lauderdale with three to five night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises, then home ports at Port Canaveral for the first time in Fall 2027 on three to seven night sailings. The ship carries heroes and villains theming through its dining and entertainment.
• The Disney Wish returns to Port Canaveral after New York and San Juan for three and four night Bahamian cruises calling at Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
• The Disney Treasure continues seven night Eastern and Western Caribbean sailings, plus two one-offs: an eight night Eastern Caribbean cruise and a six night Bahamian cruise that stops at Castaway Cay twice.
• The Disney Dream runs three and four night Bahamian cruises from Port Canaveral, then repositions to Fort Lauderdale in November 2027 for three to five night Bahamian sailings, including one six night itinerary with two Castaway Cay calls.
• The Disney Fantasy sails from Port Canaveral between September and November 2027 on four and five night Bahamas and Western Caribbean cruises, then moves to Fort Lauderdale for four to seven night Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean itineraries. It also sails to Bermuda for the first time, on an eight night cruise that visits both of the line's Bahamian island destinations.

The double Castaway Cay itineraries are worth flagging. Disney's private island is the single most requested stop in the fleet, and a sailing that calls there twice effectively doubles the beach day that most families book the cruise for.

San Diego keeps two ships, and the Magic returns to Galveston

On the West Coast, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder both open the season in San Diego through early November 2027 on three to seven night Baja and Mexican Riviera sailings. The Wonder then stays put through Fall 2027 and Spring 2028 with three to seven night cruises calling at Ensenada, Cabo San Lucas and Catalina Island.

Once the Magic finishes its eastbound canal transit, it spends the season in Galveston on four to seven night cruises. Select seven night Bahamian itineraries out of Texas call at both Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point and Disney Castaway Cay, which is a long way to sail for two island days but keeps the Gulf Coast market from having to fly.

Disney Adventure adds a Malaysian port

The Disney Adventure keeps sailing from Singapore, with new three and four night itineraries running September to December 2027. Separately, and sooner, select sailings from December 31, 2026 through May 2027 add a new port of call at Langkawi, Malaysia, giving the ship a rainforest and coastline day ashore rather than a pure cruise to nowhere.

Halloween and Christmas sailings return in fall 2027

Both seasonal overlays are back on the calendar. Halloween on the High Seas begins in September 2027, bringing character costumes, themed entertainment, deck parties and trick or treating at sea. Very Merrytime sailings follow in November and December 2027 with a tree lighting, seasonal deck parties, holiday treats and Santa Claus aboard.

Seasonal dates carry a premium and they book early, so the overlay sailings are usually the first to disappear once the general on-sale opens.

Booking opens August 31 for Castaway Club members

Select Castaway Club members get first access on August 31, 2026, and everyone else can book from September 8 at DisneyCruise.com or through a travel agent. Anyone chasing the New York voyages, a double Castaway Cay itinerary or a holiday sailing should have the date in the calendar rather than the week after, because those are the three categories that thin out fastest in a Disney Cruise Line on-sale.
