Marvel Rivals has pushed an emergency balance hotfix for Version 20260711, its first meaningful recalibration since the Season 9 launch. The patch partially reverses a Strategist healing nerf, hands damage back to Cyclops and Phoenix after the removal of their Team-Up Anchors, and trims the ceiling on Psylocke and a Thor-boosted Iron Man.

Why the hotfix landed
NetEase framed the update as a response to a Season 9 meta that had shifted faster than expected. The developer said Strategists were absorbing more pressure on the front line, which slowed how quickly they charged their Ultimate Abilities. The studio also flagged that Cyclops and Phoenix had fallen off after Team-Up Anchors were removed, and that Black Widow was still finding her footing after her combat overhaul. The team added that further recalibrations would follow as the meta settles.
Global change: Strategists charge ultimates faster
- Healing to energy conversion efficiency for all Strategists raised from 60% to 70%.
Duelist changes
The bulk of the damage adjustments land here. Cyclops and Phoenix get their aggression back, Black Widow picks up a small buff, and two of the season's stronger picks come down.
Black Panther
- Fixed an issue where Black Panther incorrectly accumulated a damage boost while his recoverable shield was restoring, which had been causing abnormal damage.
Black Widow
- Red Room Rifle damage per hit increased from 40 to 45. Max damage falloff adjusted from 80% at 40m to 75% at 40m.
- Electro-plasma Blast raised from a range of 40 (no charge) to 60 (full charge), up to 50 to 70.
Cyclops
- Optic Blast damage per tick increased from 21 to 22.
- Ricochet Force direct hit damage increased from 70 to 75.
- Gambit Team-Up cooldown reduced from 18s to 15s.
Iron Man
- Thor Team-Up Unibeam outer ring damage reduced from 84/s to 70/s (standard) and from 108/s to 85/s (Armor Overdrive).
Phoenix
- Cosmic Flames damage per hit increased from 55 to 60.
- Rogue Team-Up direct hit and ricochet damage increased from 40 to 45, with the ability cooldown reduced from 12s to 10s.
Psylocke
- Psionic Crossbow base damage per shot reduced from 13 to 12, with falloff now starting at 8m instead of 15m.
- Emma Frost Team-Up: bonus health from a single Wing Shurikens hit reduced from 15 to 12, illusion duration cut from 5s to 3s, and illusion damage lowered from 30% to 15% of Psylocke's.
- Cloak and Dagger Team-Up: Psionic Crossbow base damage per shot reduced from 14 to 13.
Strategist changes
Beyond the global energy buff, several healers get direct tuning. Gambit, Invisible Woman, and Jubilee come out ahead, while Mantis and an Ultron drone combo lose some value.
Gambit
- Healing Hearts self-healing increased from 20/s to 30/s.
- Bridge Boost healing per bounce increased from 50 to 65.
- Magneto Team-Up area healing increased from 50/s to 55/s.
Invisible Woman
- Healing on retrieving Orb Projection increased from 40 to 45.
- Guardian Shield self-healing increased from 15/s to 20/s.
- Mister Fantastic Team-Up healing over time increased from 15/s to 25/s.
- Invisible Boundary (Ultimate) healing increased from 180/s to 200/s, with energy cost reduced from 4500 to 4300.
Jubilee
- Firework Finale (Ultimate) energy cost reduced from 4500 to 4300.
- Blooming Ball charge required reduced from 300 to 250, base healing increased from 30/s to 35/s (max size healing stays at 50/s).
- Blade Team-Up Lifesteal ratio increased from 25% to 30%.
Luna Snow
- Fate of Both Worlds (Ultimate) energy cost reduced from 5000 to 4800.
Mantis
- Healing Flower reduced from (15 + 3% of Max Health)/s to (12 + 3% of Max Health)/s.
- Star-Lord Team-Up enhanced healing reduced from (17.5 + 3.5% of Max Health)/s to (15 + 3.5% of Max Health)/s.
Rocket Raccoon
- Groot Team-Up area healing per spore increased from 15 to 20.
- Squirrel Girl Team-Up healing per acorn increased from 20 to 30.
Ultron
- Peni Parker Team-Up: healing from drones attached to other allies reduced from 35/s to 15/s, with the ability cooldown increased from 15s to 20s.
What it means for players
Strategist mains get back some ultimate uptime after Season 9 made them work harder for it, and Cyclops and Phoenix should feel playable again now that their damage no longer leans on the retired Team-Up Anchors. On the other side, the Iron Man and Thor pairing and Psylocke both lose a step. NetEase says its Watchers are still tracking the meta, so treat this as an early correction rather than the final word on Season 9 balance.
