‘Hoppers’ Brings Pixar’s Animal Adventure Home
In the hit animated film, animal lover Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) seizes a chance to use new technology to “hop” her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver and communicate directly with animals. As she uncovers mysteries in the animal world, Mabel befriends charismatic beaver King George (voiced by Bobby Moynihan) and must rally the entire animal kingdom against an imminent human threat: smooth-talking mayor Jerry Generazzo (voiced by Jon Hamm). Directed by Daniel Chong and written by Jesse Andrews, the film also features the voices of Kathy Najimy, Dave Franco, and Meryl Streep.
Three New Disney+ Avatars
To mark the streaming debut, Disney+ users can now choose from three new Hoppers-themed avatars: Mabel, King George, and fan-favorite Tom Lizzard.
‘The Simpsons’ Returns with Three Summer Exclusives
Fresh off the series’ landmark 800th episode, three all-new Simpsons episodes will stream exclusively on Disney+ globally this summer:
- “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition” (June 17): A double-episode in which Homer and Marge’s date night unravels after Marge learns Homer left the kids with only the doorbell camera as a babysitter. A tipsy Marge spins a trilogy of fantasies about a different Homer. Guest starring Betty Gilpin, with musical guests Laufey and Tegan and Sara.
- “Simpsley” (July 3): A Disney+ exclusive Simpsons noir in which con-artist Marge Bouvier is sent to Italy to lure wealthy Seymour Skinner home — only to be tempted by his lavish lifestyle and tangled up with clingy houseguest Homer Simpsley.
- “Yellow Mirror” (August 26): A two-story anthology in which a defective lamp reveals a heartbreaking truth about Homer’s reality, and an AI-powered tablet befriends and controls Maggie.
What This Means for Disney Fans
The pairing underscores how Disney+ keeps leaning on both its Pixar pipeline and its Simpsons library to give subscribers a steady drip of new reasons to log in. With Hoppers available now and the first Simpsons exclusive dropping June 17, there’s plenty to queue up before summer ends.
