Moana at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World gives Moana fans the widest range of ways to connect with her story. The centerpiece is Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana, a self-guided outdoor trail at EPCOT where guests explore how water moves through the natural world. Two routes wind through the space, one that keeps you dry and one that invites you to get splashed, with playful effects drawn straight from the film.
Catherine Laga'aia, who stars as Moana in the live-action film, walked the trail herself and reflected on what the character means to her.
"I think watching the first Moana film, I was so inspired by it, because it was the first time I got to see a version of myself on screen," Laga'aia says in the walkthrough. "I could only hope that this movie does the same thing for the next generation of kids."
There is more on the way. At Disney's Hollywood Studios, an animation experience opening later this year will let guests learn to sketch Moana during "Olaf Draws!" sessions led by story artist Samantha Vilfort. Elsewhere around the resort, Moana appears in "Fantasmic!" at Hollywood Studios and joins "Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away" at Magic Kingdom, a nighttime processional inspired by the classic Main Street Electrical Parade. Guests can also meet her in World Nature at EPCOT and at Character Landing at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
For a full stay, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort leans into the theme with Moana-inspired rooms and a kid-friendly splash pad at the Island Tower, complete with life-sized sculptures of Moana and her canoe. The second floor of the Grand Ceremonial House holds an oceanic marketplace of themed souvenirs.
Two limited-time treats round out a visit:
- Motunui Ube Sundae: ube soft-serve with tropical fruits, coconut, raspberry crumbs, and macadamia, at the Anandapur Ice Cream Truck in Disney's Animal Kingdom
- Heihei Delight: a pineapple and coconut blend topped with a pineapple slice and freeze-dried candy, at The Land Cart in EPCOT
Moana on Disney Cruise Line
Moana's story sails across the Disney Cruise Line fleet through stage shows and themed dining. On the Disney Treasure, "Disney The Tale of Moana" is a Broadway-style production that follows her quest to restore the heart of Te Fiti, performed with dance and songs in Tuvaluan, Tokelauan, and Samoan. Aboard the Disney Adventure, "Moana: Call of the Sea" plays at Wayfinder Bay, and seating fills quickly, so arriving early is worth it.
First-night guests on the Disney Wish, Disney Destiny, Disney Treasure, and Disney Adventure can catch "Disney Seas the Adventure," where Elsa, Moana, and Merida perform an original medley that nudges Goofy toward the unknown. For dining, Gramma Tala's Kitchen on the Disney Adventure serves South Pacific-inspired fare, while the Heihei Cafe on the Disney Treasure offers a casual, playful stop. Moana also appears at select character greetings across the fleet.
Moana at Disneyland Resort
At Disneyland Resort, Moana turns up across nighttime spectaculars and a hands-on class or two. She appears in "Wondrous Journeys," running through August 20, 2026, and in the "Tapestry of Happiness" projection show on the facade of "it's a small world." Look for her as well in select "World of Color" performances: "World of Color Happiness!" runs through August 9, 2026, and "World of Color, ONE" returns to Disney California Adventure for a limited time starting August 10, 2026.
Younger guests can learn to draw Heihei and Pua at the Animation Academy inside the Disney Animation Building at Disney California Adventure, with classes every 30 minutes and no reservations required. Over on Main Street, U.S.A., an animated window display outside the Emporium hides Moana, Maui, Pua, Heihei, Te Fiti, and a few Kakamora. Moana herself greets guests in Fantasyland at Disneyland park.
Moana at Hong Kong Disneyland
Hong Kong Disneyland recently added a Moana dining hall, and her presence extends across stage shows and character meets in Adventureland. "Moana: A Homecoming Celebration" brings her quest to restore the heart of Te Fiti to life with music, dance, and puppetry, and she features in the "Momentous" nighttime spectacular alongside dozens of other Disney moments. The resort's Castle of Magical Dreams honors 13 princesses and queens, Moana among them. Guests can meet her in Adventureland and dine at Wayfinders' Table, where the menu runs from Voyagers' Chicken Naan Pizza to Massaman Prawn Curry and a seafood laksa noodle bowl.
Moana at Aulani
At Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, Moana's story is woven into experiences rooted in Hawaiian culture. Guests can meet her for a character greeting (check the Daily 'Iwa or the Aulani app for times) and sign up for "Wayfinding with Moana," a premium activity for ages 4 to 12 at Aunty's Beach House where kids craft a miniature double-hulled canoe inspired by the traditional Hawaiian wa'a. At the Painted Sky: HI Style Studio, children ages 3 to 12 can pick themed makeovers, including the Moana Beach Bun and Moana Wave styles.
Moana at Tokyo Disney Resort
Tokyo Disney Resort features Moana in the colorful "Disney Harmony in Color" daytime parade and in "Believe! Sea of Dreams," the nighttime show on the Mediterranean Harbor at Tokyo DisneySea that blends live performers, music, and animation. She also makes a brief appearance in the indoor "Dreams Take Flight" show at Tokyo DisneySea, and she greets guests at select times at both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea.
Moana at Shanghai Disney Resort
At Shanghai Disney Resort, Moana appears in "Mickey's Storybook Adventure," a live theater show at Shanghai Disneyland that gathers 13 Disney tales, and in the castle projections of the "ILLUMINATE! A Nighttime Celebration" spectacular.
Moana at Disneyland Paris
Disneyland Paris centers its Moana moments on "Disney Cascade of Lights," a nighttime show at Disney Adventure World that sends Disney and Pixar heroes, including Moana, Mulan, and Hercules, on a quest for destiny told through fireworks, water-screen projections, and drones. She also appears in "A Million Splashes of Colour," in the "Disney Tales of Magic" castle spectacular, and, starting July 24, in the Disney Princess Cavalcade. Guests dining at the Regal View Restaurant and Lounge inside the Disneyland Hotel may see her among visiting Disney princesses.
Moana merchandise to bring the adventure home
DisneyStore.com carries a wide Moana lineup, from a new Pua LEGO building set to a Heihei plush and Pandora charms. Mattel has also released dolls tied to the live-action film, including an adventure-ready Maui complete with his fishhook and a singing Moana doll that plays a clip of "How Far I'll Go." Themed merchandise is available across the parks as well, so guests can carry a piece of the voyage home from wherever they visit.
Planning your Moana voyage
With the live-action film opening July 10, 2026, there has rarely been a better moment to fold Moana into a Disney trip. The experiences span every budget and passport stamp, from a free window display on Main Street to a premium wayfinding class at Aulani, which means fans can meet her on almost any Disney vacation and keep the story going long after the credits roll.
