Mando and Grogu Take Over Disney Parks: New Smugglers Run Mission, Themed Eats, Merch, and Magic Shots
Disney Parks are rolling out a wide-ranging celebration for the May 22 release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu — including a brand-new Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run storyline, the limited-time "The Curious Child" projections at Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge, new food on three continents, a fresh merch wave, and themed PhotoPass Magic Shots.

Disney Parks are going full-throttle for the May 22 theatrical release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu, rolling out a new Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run storyline, fresh projection effects at Disneyland's Batuu, themed eats from Tatooine to Paris, a wave of merchandise, and brand-new Magic Shots that drop Mando and Grogu right into your vacation photos.
A New Smugglers Run Mission Starring Mando and Grogu
Beginning May 22, 2026, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at both Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort is launching an all-new storyline built around Din Djarin and Grogu. Hondo Ohnaka has caught wind of a high-stakes deal going down on the sands of Tatooine — ex-Imperial officers crossing paths with a band of pirates — and the bounty is hefty enough that he's putting the Falcon in your hands to chase it down.
The new mission shuffles where you end up: each flight may take crews to the cloud city of Bespin, the shattered remains of the second Death Star near Endor, or the towering cityscape of Coruscant. The bigger change for repeat riders is a fresh interactive beat in the cockpit — the engineer position can now check in on Grogu mid-mission and make the pivotal planet choice that charts the course, giving each role a new reason to volunteer for it.

"The Curious Child" Lights Up Galaxy's Edge at Disneyland
Starting May 16, Disneyland park's Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is layering a new limited-time projection sequence called "The Curious Child" on top of its nightly Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga show. Grogu tests his power to recall his adventures with The Mandalorian, with the spires near the Millennium Falcon at Batuu acting as the canvas. It's the kind of low-key, atmospheric addition that fits naturally into a night already spent wandering Black Spire Outpost.
Flavors from the Outer Rim
The food rollout spans three resorts. At Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, Grogu Cookies are the headliner — white chocolate-dipped macaron cookies stuffed with pineapple cream. Walt Disney World adds the savory Sweet-and-Spicy Puffer Pig Pasta, with flat noodles, pork belly, bok choy, and a hard-boiled egg in a sweet-and-spicy soy sauce. Both resorts are also selling the Mandalorian and Grogu Jetpack Sipper and the BDX Droid Bucket — limit two per person, per transaction, while supplies last.
Across the Atlantic, Disneyland Paris is leaning into the moment with its own Grogu-themed lineup: a Grogu Burger and Grogu Blue Macaron at Café Hyperion, plus a Grogu Biscuit at Cool Station. There's also a separate May the 4th Macaron in the mix for fans timing a visit to the broader Star Wars Day window.
Galactic Keepsakes — Merch Across the Parks
A fresh wave of merchandise inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu is rolling out at the obvious destinations: Tatooine Traders, Mission: SPACE Cargo Bay, Star Wars Galactic Outpost, and World of Disney at Walt Disney World, plus The Star Trader, Dok-Ondar's Den of Antiquities, Star Wars Trading Post, and World of Disney at Disneyland Resort. Standout pieces include a Mandalorian and Grogu Adult Tee with the Mythosaur crest, the Mandalorian and Grogu Puzzle, and a Mandalorian & Grogu Figure Set arriving soon.

Beyond the parks, licensees are loading up retail shelves with their own Mando-and-Grogu lineup. The headliners include the Hasbro Star Wars Action Buddy Grogu, the Hasbro Star Wars: The Black Series Mandalorian and Grogu action figures, a Mattel Star Wars Character Grogu Deluxe Plush, and a slick CASETiFY Mandalorian and Grogu AirPods Pro (2nd generation) case for the everyday-carry crowd.

More from Across the Galaxy
Even fans not heading to the parks get a small piece of the celebration: Disney account profile avatars inspired by The Mandalorian and Grogu are now live, with Mando and Grogu themselves joining a wider drop that also includes Chewbacca and Wicket W. Warrick.
Inside the parks, Disney California Adventure's Animation Academy at Hollywood Land's Disney Animation Building is teaching guests how to draw Grogu step-by-step, guided by a Disney animator. Classes run every 30 minutes, no reservation required — check the daily schedule outside the venue to catch the Grogu lesson.
New Magic Shots: Mando & Grogu in Your PhotoPass
For a limited time, Disney PhotoPass is rolling out a set of Magic Shots built around Mando and Grogu. Photographers will be set up across Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge near the Millennium Falcon, in the Marketplace, by the A-Wing, and near the Droid Depot — plus Tomorrowland at Disneyland, Disney Springs at Walt Disney World, Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris, and select Disney Cruise Line experiences.
Pose at any PhotoPass location, then check your gallery to see which characters joined the shot.
Keep Your Eyes Peeled
Guests may catch the duo themselves at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge at both U.S. resorts, or in Discoveryland at Disneyland Paris, as they continue their journey across the galaxy.
What This Means for Disney Fans
This is one of the most coordinated park rollouts Lucasfilm and Disney Parks have done for a Star Wars theatrical release in years — a new ride storyline, a projection layer, themed food on three continents, a merch wave, and PhotoPass Magic Shots all dropping inside the same week as the film. If you're planning a Galaxy's Edge visit between mid-May and the summer, the new Smugglers Run mission alone is reason to put the attraction back in rotation, and the limited window on "The Curious Child" projections at Disneyland is the kind of thing fans will want to catch in person while it lasts. Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu hits theaters Friday, May 22, 2026.
