DIY: Build Grogu's Kaleidoscope From The Mandalorian and Grogu Trailer
Inspired by the curious little foundling's scene-stealing moment in the first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu, StarWars.com has shared a step-by-step craft guide for building your own Grogu-themed kaleidoscope — filled with hearts, beads, and plenty of sparkle, making it the perfect Clan of Two valentine.

One of the most charming beats from the first trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu is when the tiny foundling peeks through a little instrument to scope out the scene. It is almost as adorable as he is — so of course fans immediately wanted one of their own. Lucky for us, StarWars.com put together a full step-by-step craft to build a Grogu-inspired kaleidoscope at home.

What You Will Need
Key Details
- Empty cereal box, ruler, pencil, scissors
- Colorful beads and tiny red paper or bead hearts
- Light green cardstock for mini Grogu shapes
- 1-inch clear cosmetic container with lid
- Masking tape and a hot glue gun
- Craft foam sheets
- Metallic gold and black acrylic paint
- Metallic gold cardstock paper
- Fifteen 1-inch square mirror mosaic tiles
- Clear tape
Step-by-Step: Build Your Grogu Kaleidoscope
Step 1: Cut a 5.5" x 4" piece from an empty cereal box and curl it lengthwise, unprinted side out, into a tube.

Step 2: Draw a few tiny Grogu heads on the light green cardstock and cut them out — an oval for his face plus two half-circles for his ears.
Step 3: Drop beads, tiny red hearts, and the Grogu shapes into the clear cosmetic container and seal the lid.

Step 4: Roll the tube around the container, tape it temporarily, then glue the edge closed to lock the shape.

Step 5: Cut strips of craft foam of varying thickness and size them to fit around the tube.

Step 6: Hot glue the foam strips in place around the tube.

Step 7: Paint the entire tube with metallic gold acrylic paint, letting it dry fully. Multiple coats help.
Step 8: Mix a little black paint into the gold, then darken some of the strips for visual variety.
Step 9: Use clear tape on the back of three mosaic tiles to form a mirrored triangle, mirror-side in. Build five triangles total.

Step 10: Tape the five triangles together into one long piece.

Step 11: Very gently press the mirror piece into the tube — it should be a tight fit — then insert the bead container at one end, flush against the mirror.
Step 12: Glue wide strips of gold metallic paper around the outside of the tube for extra texture.

Step 13: Cut a final strip of craft foam and glue it around the inside of the viewing end, opposite the bead container.
Your Finished Kaleidoscope

Look through the viewing end and gently shake the beads to watch the patterns shift — a perfect little handmade surprise for the other member of your Clan of Two.
