Reborn: Ultimate Impact #1 Brings New Heroes and Villains Crashing Into Earth-616

Writer Chris Condon and artist Stefano Caselli introduce Hostilicus, Sightseer, Mogul, and a new Wonder Man in Reborn: Ultimate Impact, a five-part Marvel Comics series that sends Ultimate Universe powers flooding into the main Marvel Universe. Issue #1 arrives May 20.

The Ultimate Universe may be reaching its endgame, but its impact on Earth-616 is just beginning. Reborn: Ultimate Impact, a new five-part series from writer Chris Condon and artist Stefano Caselli, picks up where Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion left off, as Miles Morales returns to the main Marvel Universe carrying the powerful Origin Boxes that could reshape everything.

The Origin Boxes and Their Dangerous Power

The story stems from the Maker's failed attempt to create a world without heroes. He weaponized the Origin Boxes to rob costumed crimefighters of their destinies in the Ultimate Universe. Now those same artifacts have followed Miles back to Earth-616, and whoever opens one receives the power set of the hero or villain it contains.

According to Condon, Miles is fully aware of the danger these boxes represent. "He wants to find someone he can trust to take things over from him," Condon explained. "Miles seeks out a fellow hero to help better guard these powerful catalysts, but unfortunately, Miles isn't the only person aware of the Origin Boxes and their power. Cue: trouble!"

Meet the New Characters

Reborn: Ultimate Impact introduces several new heroes and villains making their Marvel Comics debut:

• Hostilicus - A descendant of the Ultimate Universe's Annihilus. He's the warrior leader of the Cult of Annihilus, locked in an eternal religious war with Blastaar's Children. Condon describes him as "fanatical, powerful, and cunning," wearing petrified pieces of Annihilus himself into battle.
• Sightseer - A new hero who can see beyond the veil.
• Mogul - An unstoppably persuasive media executive with dangerous abilities.
• Wonder Man - A brand-new take on the character, hailing from New Jersey. This is not the classic Simon Williams but a wholly new identity born from an Origin Box.

A Collision Between Universes

These new characters won't exist in a vacuum. Condon promises they'll enter the 616 Universe and find themselves "up against Marvel's greatest heroes and anti-heroes." The writer describes the series as "an action-packed five-part story that is thrilling, intriguing, and, most importantly, fun."

Working with Caselli, known for his work on Ultimate Black Panther, was a highlight for Condon. "Stefano is a legend in my eyes, so it was a thrill to collaborate with him and build what we think is a truly great series," he said. "It's great fun to create this new corner of the Marvel Universe with him, and it's thrilling to see him take my black-and-white descriptions and breathe life into them."
