Marvel Snap Patch Notes April 7, 2026: Crystal Gets Full VFX, Sanctum Showdown Stability Overhaul
The Marvel Snap 52.x patch lands with long-awaited VFX and audio for Crystal, tweaks to Iron Man and Ka-Zar, new album tags for Featured Sets, and a sweeping list of bug fixes across card interactions, shop UI, Sanctum Showdown, Overdrive, Team Up, and PC-specific issues.
Second Dinner has rolled out the Marvel Snap 52.x patch on April 7, 2026, and while the headline is a massive bug-fix sweep, the update also delivers a feature Crystal mains have been asking for since her debut: full VFX and audio. The patch also adjusts Iron Man and Ka-Zar VFX and adds clearer album tagging to Featured Sets, making it easier to know exactly what your next pin or pack will contribute to your collection.
Patch At a Glance
- Patch: Marvel Snap 52.x
- Released: April 7, 2026
- Platforms: iOS, Android, PC
- Required: App Store / Play Store update before launching
Before diving in, Second Dinner is reminding players to grab the latest build from the App Store. The new client is required — older versions will be locked out until the update installs.
Featured Set Album Tags Make Collecting Clearer
The headline feature this patch is a quality-of-life win for collectors. Featured Sets now carry album tags that surface whenever a pinned Variant, or a Variant inside a pack, contributes to an album. If you've ever bought a bundle only to realize halfway through that the shiny new art you wanted was also an album completion, this fixes that. It's the kind of transparency the community has been asking for since Albums launched — no more hunting through multiple menus to cross-reference what counts.
Crystal Finally Gets VFX and Audio
Art, VFX, and audio updates are short but meaningful. Crystal — the Inhuman royal who arrived earlier in the season as a pure stat card — now has proper VFX and audio on reveal, catching her up to the visual standard of the rest of the roster. Iron Man and Ka-Zar both received VFX adjustments, a subtle polish pass on two cards that remain staples across multiple meta archetypes.
Card and Location Bug Fixes
The bug-fix list is where this patch really earns its release notes. The card interaction fixes address a long backlog of edge cases:
- Creating card copies with Bar Sinister no longer causes issues
- Mercury and Moonstone lane-swap lockouts have been resolved
- Skill cards no longer deform in the unrevealed state after Zero triggers its ability
- An incorrect Green Glow VFX no longer appears on Hawkeye when a Move ability card hovers over his location
- Spider-Ham's VFX no longer replaces card art on targeted cards, and his Activate VFX now displays correctly
- Player card power values no longer clip with opponent cards during reveal animations
- Sandstorm's card art has been corrected to stop overlapping the Power value
- Zombie Galactus' logo no longer overlaps its ability text
Shop, Game Modes, and Event Pass Fixes
Shop-side, Token Tuesday bundle backgrounds are rendering correctly again, and the Highlight VFX on shop hover has been cleaned up. The biggest batch of fixes lands in game modes, where Overdrive, Sanctum Showdown, Team Up, Team Clash, and High Voltage all received attention:
- The Purchase button now shows the Gold Icon on Custom Game Mode Premium Event Passes
- No more Invalid Deck popup at match start during High Voltage events
- Premium pass XP displays the correct total in Team Up
- XP and Volts animations in Overdrive now flow to the Event Pass bar without delay
- Mastery animation lag when pulling portals in Overdrive and Sanctum Showdown is gone
- Team Clash's "Purchase a ticket" prompt now names the correct game mode
- The End of Event screen no longer appears for players who didn't participate in event modes
- In Team Up, The Thunderbolts' Red Hulk card logo no longer overlaps its ability text
Localization and PC Fixes
Localization got targeted fixes for Japanese reward number clipping in Albums, corrected Viv Vision card description translation, and proper non-English localization of the Sanctum Showdown Surge tutorial's second page. On PC, "Make Me A Deck" now appears correctly in CardView when navigating from Albums in landscape, and Windows players can once again exit the rewards preview in the Sanctum Shop using Esc.
What This Means for Marvel Snap Players
This isn't a balance patch — no power or cost changes shipped today — but it is one of the most substantial stability updates in recent months. If you've been holding off on Sanctum Showdown or Overdrive because of animation lag, or dodging High Voltage because of the invalid deck popup, tonight's the night to dive back in. And if Crystal has been sitting in your collection feeling unfinished, she's finally ready for the spotlight. Expect the next balance update — not included here — to arrive later in the 52.x cycle.
