Marvel Snap March 12 Balance Update: All Buffs, No Nerfs for En Sabah Nur Season
Marvel Snap's March 12 OTA is a no-nerfs patch that buffs En Sabah Nur, Apocalypse, Debrii, White Tiger, Ghost, Hydro-Man and Pixie, while signaling that Star-Lord is under close watch but not touched yet.
Marvel Snap's March 12 OTA is a rarity: no nerfs, just a handful of buffs. Second Dinner is holding its fire on Star-Lord for now while prioritizing the cards that have under-performed since the X-Men: Origins of Apocalypse season kicked off.
Star-Lord on Watch, Not on the Chopping Block — Yet
The metagame "looks stable after nerfs to Star-Lord and some other outliers from a few weeks ago," according to the dev note. Play rate has been declining both because of his last balance pass and because players are experimenting with the new seasonal content. But the team acknowledged community frustration directly: "we are closely monitoring it as well as community sentiment." Two weeks later, the March 26 patch would land a much bigger Star-Lord rework — so consider this the warning shot.
En Sabah Nur and Apocalypse Get a Point
Apocalypse Boosts
- En Sabah Nur: 4/5 → 4/6 (Objective: Have a full front row at each location ➡️ Transform into Apocalypse)
- Apocalypse, Celestials' Chosen: 4/8 → 4/9 (On Reveal: Swap the lowest-Power front-row card with one from your deck)
En Sabah Nur's Objective is complex — filling a front row at every location isn't trivial — and the dev note admits the Big Bad "has arrived a little short this season." A point of Power on both the base form and the Celestials' Chosen upgrade is a gentle nudge rather than a full re-evaluation.
Debrii and White Tiger Buffs
- Debrii: 3/7 → 3/8 — hoping the Rocks gain new context alongside Ozymandias
- White Tiger: On Reveal now adds a 10-Power Tiger (up from 9) to another location
White Tiger is Second Dinner's "early series all-star that rarely gets too much love," and the buff is explicitly a nod toward her synergy with the new Caliban and Selene Horsemen cards from the current season.
Ghost: A Stealth Anti-Meta Buff
Ghost jumps from 3/4 to 3/5. The target: End of Turn strategies, which have been quietly overperforming. Ghost's text — "Remove the abilities from all End of Turn cards here" — makes him a surgical tech answer, but he's historically been too underpowered to justify a slot. A point of Power may be enough to change that.
Hydro-Man and Pixie Round It Out
- Hydro-Man: 5/8 → 5/9
- Pixie: 2/2 → 2/3 (a fan-favorite whose base number "has fallen out of favor with the general point output of the game")
What This Means for Marvel Snap Players
A buff-only patch is a vote of confidence in the current state of the meta. Second Dinner is letting the Origins of Apocalypse season breathe — giving the new Objective mechanic time to shake out — rather than chasing Star-Lord with another nerf. If you've been sitting on Pixie or White Tiger, this is the green light to dust them off. And keep an eye on Ghost as a tech option against End of Turn decks.
