Marvel Rivals May 28 Patch Adds Alchemax Headquarters Map, Chrono-Rush Event, and a Blood Hunt Rebalance
The Marvel Rivals update arriving May 28, 2026 brings the Nueva York 2099 Alchemax Headquarters Doom Match map, the uncapped Chrono-Rush token event, and a sweeping Blood Hunt balance pass across Punisher, Thor, Blade, and more. A new anti-cheat system also refunds Ranked Points lost to verified cheaters.
The next Marvel Rivals update lands May 28, 2026 at 09:00 UTC with no server downtime — and it is a stacked one. The patch debuts a brand-new Alchemax Headquarters Doom Match map set in Nueva York 2099, kicks off the weekend-long Chrono-Rush event, and rolls out a sweeping wave of Blood Hunt balance changes alongside a new anti-cheat refund system.
Key Details
- Patch Live: May 28, 2026, 09:00 UTC (no downtime)
- New Map: Alchemax Headquarters (Doom Match mode)
- New Event: Chrono-Rush, recurring weekends from May 29
- Store Headliner: Black Cat — Wild Card Bundle and Wolverine — X-2099 Bundle (from May 29)
- Blood Hunt: Nightmare difficulty cap raised to 200
New Map: Alchemax Headquarters
The update transports players to Nueva York, 2099, home of Alchemax — the ruthless mega-corporation running secret, timeline-bending experiments behind closed doors. To shut down their Incursion for good, Devil Dinosaur crashes the headquarters carrying a portable Timestream Reintegration Device (TRD), dragging the company's darkest secrets into the light. The map launches in Doom Match mode.
Chrono-Rush Event and Store Drops
The TVA is working overtime. The Chrono-Rush event rewards players with uncapped Chrono Tokens just for playing matches — the more you play, the more you earn. It runs across four weekend windows:
- May 29 – June 1, 2026 (12:00 UTC)
- June 5 – June 8, 2026 (12:00 UTC)
- June 12 – June 15, 2026 (12:00 UTC)
- June 19 – June 22, 2026 (12:00 UTC)
On the cosmetics front, the headliner is the Black Cat — Wild Card Bundle (available May 29 to June 26, 2026). It is joined from May 29 by the Wolverine — X-2099 Bundle, Black Cat Wild Card Chromas (Purple Prowl and Pink Purr), Wild Card Style Parts for the head, neck, and waist, and a Black Cat emoji bundle.
Daredevil's Shadowed Start Gets Two Free Options
Responding to community love for Matt Murdock's Shadowed Start costume, the team is adding two customization options this week — both free, and automatically granted to anyone who owns the costume. The default weapon switches to the White Billy Club (the Black Billy Club becomes an optional swap), and players can now toggle off the "Demon's Rage" flame VFX on their own screen, though other players will still see the flames.
Blood Hunt Balance Overhaul
The marquee gameplay change is a massive wave of stat adjustments built specifically for Blood Hunt mode, with the Nightmare difficulty cap raised to 200. Here is how the roster is being tuned to push back the night:
The Punisher
- Barrager Build: Higher Adjudication damage buff from Rifle of Retribution; bigger post-Adjudication next-shot buff from Vibranium Barrel; increased Shrapnel Shot split-bullet damage; stronger Multi-Trajectory bullets.
- Sweeper Build: Higher Deliverance buff from Marauder Shotgun; bigger Mithril Slug next-shot boost; reduced Piercing Shot damage falloff; stronger Chain Fire bullets; fixed a Chain Reaction gear-expansion explosive-damage bug.
Moon Knight
- Increased enhanced Eclipse Explosion buff from Uru Knuckles (Fist of the Moon God build).
- Gauntlets of Thoth now grant a percentage of independent Damage Reduction.
- Nerf: reduced base Hand of Khonshu damage in the Fist of Khonshu trait.
Squirrel Girl
- Stronger Squirrel Friends buff from the Great Lakes Avengers Banner (Rodent Commander build).
- Squirrel Missile damage now scales with Squirrel Friends' damage.
Blade
- Purging Bladedance: Higher Ancestral Sword slash buff from Stakes of Yggdrasill; faster Blade Shadows slash spread; Twilight Whetstone grants independent Damage Reduction.
- Silver Soulbreaker: Higher Hunter's Shotgun buff from Breathing Gun; Reap now briefly guarantees a critical hit rate and boosts dodge.
Jeff the Land Shark
- Riding the Rapids: Bigger Big Fish Frenzy health and damage gains after swallowing an enemy; stronger Hide and Seek ram damage from Deep-Sea Propeller.
- Overflowing Waters: More Drowning damage from Skuld's Mouthwash; stronger Aqua Burst on Drowning enemies via Whirlpool Waterbomb; higher Splish-Splash Pew Pew damage from Kraken Blaster.
Thor
- Thunder Formation: Higher Storm Surge scaling per point of Thorforce; more Aegis of Thunder Bonus Health; new Damage Reduction during Storm Surge.
- Rune Awakening: Tighter Rolling Thunder projectile spread; higher Storm Surge base damage from Gaea Sigil; stronger Rolling Thunder projectiles.
A Weekend Surge: Double XP bonus is also active across the same four weekend windows as Chrono-Rush, helping players level up the roster faster.
Anti-Cheat Rank Compensation
A new Anti-Cheat Rank Compensation System begins its trial run this week. Successfully report a verified cheater in your match and you will be fully refunded all Ranked Points lost that game — though Placement Matches, which award no points, are excluded.
Fixes and Optimizations
On the bug-fix side, Deadpool's Hazardous Hijinks/Healing Hijinks dash no longer gets body-blocked by enemies without dealing damage, so Wade's katanas are back to slicing and dicing through the crowd.
What This Means for Players
Between a new map, an uncapped token-grinding event, a roster-wide Blood Hunt rebalance, and a cheater-refund safety net, this is one of the more feature-dense Marvel Rivals drops in recent months. With no downtime required, players can jump straight into Alchemax Headquarters the moment the patch goes live on May 28.
