Marvel and DC Reunite for Spider-Man/Superman #1 Crossover in April

Marvel Comics and DC Comics are reuniting this April for SPIDER-MAN/SUPERMAN #1, a blockbuster crossover one-shot celebrating the 50th anniversary of the first-ever Marvel/DC team-up, Superman vs. The Amazing Spider-Man.

Following the runaway success of last year's Deadpool/Batman #1, the publishers are uniting again with a double-dose of history-making storytelling: Marvel's Spider-Man/Superman in April, with a complementary DC-published Superman/Spider-Man one-shot hitting shelves in March. Each issue packs all-new stories starring Marvel's web-slinging wall-crawler alongside DC's Man of Tomorrow.

Brad Meltzer and Pepe Larraz Headline

The lead story is written by New York Times bestselling author Brad Meltzer in his first full-length Marvel Comics story, drawn by acclaimed Marvel artist Pepe Larraz. Titled "Thwip, Thwip and Away!," it pits Spider-Man and Superman against Norman Osborn and Lex Luthor as their greatest villains exploit their greatest weaknesses.

"I've been waiting fifty years to write this book. Superman and Spider-Man have affected me more than most real people. I carry them with me everywhere—and our story cuts to the core of what it means to be a good person," Meltzer said.

An All-Star Bonus Story Lineup

The one-shot is packed with additional stories co-starring Marvel and DC characters from superstar creators. Dan Slott and Marcos Martin send Spider-Man Noir back to the shadow-laden 1930s to encounter the original Golden Age Superman. Industry powerhouse Geoff Johns returns to Marvel for the first time in over 20 years alongside collaborator Gary Frank, pitting the Super- and Spider-families against each other at the summons of Mysterio.

Jason Aaron and Russell Dauterman reunite for an epic War of the Realms–style tale starring Jane Foster as the Mighty Thor and Wonder Woman, while symbiote hordes invade Metropolis. Louise Simonson and Todd Nauck pair Steel with John Henry Irons against the Hobgoblin, and current Amazing Spider-Man scribe Joe Kelly teams with Humberto Ramos for a campus crossover between Gwen Stacy and Lana Lang.
