Hickman and Kubert Pit Spider-Man Against Punisher and Hulk
Jonathan Hickman and Adam Kubert team up for Spider-Man: Long Way Home, a five-issue limited series launching June 17. The out-of-continuity saga sends Spider-Man, Punisher, and Hulk on a collision course over a Cosmic Cube.
This summer, three of Marvel's most iconic stars barrel toward a brutal confrontation in SPIDER-MAN: LONG WAY HOME, a new five-issue limited series from writer Jonathan Hickman and legendary artist Adam Kubert.
The series puts Spider-Man, Punisher, and Hulk on a high-stakes collision course as they desperately pursue a missing Cosmic Cube. In the same spirit as 2024's Wolverine: Revenge—Hickman's hit limited series with Greg Capullo—Spider-Man: Long Way Home offers familiarity while existing apart from the main Marvel Universe, delivering a timeless, evergreen saga unrestrained by continuity, scope, and mercy.
A Dark Homecoming Before the Heroes Were Legends
It's a world before the Punisher. A world where the existence of the Hulk is but a whisper of a rumor. A world where A.I.M. has just developed a Cosmic Cube in the jungles of South America. Frank Castle, Bruce Banner, and Peter Parker are all on a mission to keep the Cube out of the wrong hands—including each other's. In this three-way free-for-all for the power of the cosmos, who will come out on top?
"I'm so happy to be working with Adam Kubert again and even happier that we're getting to work on Spider-Man: Long Way Home. Absolutely no one is going to see this one coming," Jonathan Hickman shared.
"Jordan [D. White] barely got the words out before I yelled 'Yes!' to Spider-Man: Long Way Home. A five-issue Hickman saga with Spidey, Hulk, and Punisher? Total no-brainer. With Frank Martin making the mayhem pop! Just Make Mine Marvel!" Adam Kubert added.
An Out-of-Continuity Saga
Much like Wolverine: Revenge, this series is designed to be read by anyone—longtime fans, lapsed readers, or newcomers who have never picked up a Marvel comic. Hickman and Kubert are crafting a self-contained prestige story that treats these three characters with the respect their decades of history demand while unburdening them from the weight of current continuity. A special foil variant cover by Dave Johnson accompanies Kubert's main cover.

What This Means for Marvel Fans
Hickman is one of the most influential architects of modern Marvel, and Adam Kubert remains an industry legend whose kinetic storytelling is perfectly suited to a brawl between these three. Pairing them on an out-of-continuity Spider-Man epic co-starring Punisher and Hulk is the kind of prestige event readers do not get often. For anyone who loved Wolverine: Revenge, this is a day-one purchase at your local comic shop this June.
