DNX: X-Men and Fantastic Four Unite Against the X-Virus in New Marvel Event Series

Evolution is contagious. This September, the X-Men and Fantastic Four unite against a threat that even their combined might can't easily overcome in DNX, a new five-issue event series from writer Jed MacKay and artist Federico Vicentini.

The X-Virus Threatens to Mutate All of Humanity

The event kicks off when the Chairman -- the original Hank McCoy, a.k.a. founding X-Man Beast -- and his Machiavellian group of supervillains known as 3K prepare to unleash a virus that will forcibly and horribly transform humanity into mutants. This long-seeded plan has been building since the very beginning of MacKay's X-Men (2024) run, and it promises seismic repercussions that upset the very balance between mutantkind and humanity.

The battle lines are drawn between two factions, each steered by an original heir of Xavier, each with their own vision for the mutant future. Cyclops and the Chairman both experienced the future of the Age of Revelation and came home with opposing missions: the X-Men to prevent that future, 3K to own it. While the X-Men seek out the Fantastic Four to help save one of their own, the White Beast begins unleashing the X-Virus in a major population area.

"DNX is the next big milestone event of our X-Men (2024) run. Age of Revelation showed the future, and DNX shows that future's impact on the present! The X-Men and 3K are on a collision course that has been set since issue one -- and only one will survive." -- Jed MacKay
"I'm so happy to be working on DNX. I love what Jed is doing with X-Men (2024), and I've been telling him for a long time that I wanted to work with him. Now the opportunity has arrived, and it's an even bigger challenge because I finally have the chance to work on the Fantastic Four too!" -- Federico Vicentini

What This Means for Marvel Fans

DNX represents the culmination of over two years of storytelling in MacKay's X-Men run, and pairing the mutants with the Fantastic Four gives this event a crossover scope that's hard to resist. The X-Virus concept -- forcibly mutating humanity -- raises the kind of ethical and existential questions the X-Men franchise does best. Fans can get their first taste during Comics Giveaway Day on May 2 with the Armageddon/X-Men #1 CGD 2026 issue at participating comic shops, well ahead of the September launch.
