Disney Consumer Products Delivers Holiday Joy to Families in Need Across the U.S.
Disney Consumer Products surprised families across all 50 states with holiday Disney Store shopping sprees and a first-of-its-kind toy distribution event in Detroit featuring Stitch. The initiative, carried out in partnership with Good360 and Toys for Tots, reflects nearly 80 years of Disney holiday giving that traces back to Walt Disney himself in 1948.

Disney Consumer Products spread holiday cheer across the United States this season through two signature initiatives: surprise shopping sprees at Disney Store Times Square for families in need, and a first-of-its-kind toy distribution event in Detroit featuring Stitch as part of the Disney Holiday Magic Tour. In partnership with Good360 and Toys for Tots, the effort reached over 100 families nationwide — in all 50 states and Washington D.C. — continuing a tradition of holiday giving that traces back to Walt Disney himself in 1948.

Nationwide Boxes Packed with Disney Magic
What looked like an ordinary cardboard box arriving on doorsteps across the country turned out to be something extraordinary. In collaboration with Good360, Disney Consumer Products reached over 100 families in need, spread across all 50 states and Washington D.C., with one-of-a-kind Disney Store shopping sprees. Each box was packed by Disney VoluntEARS and contained Disney Store holiday products and gift cards — continuing the tradition Walt Disney established decades ago of bringing happiness to families during the holiday season.

New York Families Get a Private Disney Store Experience
Two of those families — the Del Moral and Martindale families — were invited to Disney Store Times Square for immersive, private shopping experiences unlike any other. Each family enjoyed their own store-opening ceremony before cast members presented each mother with a gift card and a box of holiday goodies, bringing smiles, laughter, and tears of joy.
Migdalia Del Moral, a mother of four who grew up loving Disney, called the experience transformative. "This is going to change my holiday experience," she said. "When do you get to go to a store and let your kids pick out whatever they want? As long as they're happy, I'm happy. And they look really happy right now."

Migdalia reflected on what it meant to be on the receiving end of generosity. "I think this is something very beautiful," she said. "I'm usually the one giving, so for this to happen to me, this really means a lot."

Jewel Martindale shared a particularly moving moment with her son Arlo, a huge Spider-Man fan who is nonverbal and on the autism spectrum. "The first thing he chose was Spider-Man. That was really sentimental to me, because even though he cannot talk, he can identify, and he knows what he wants," Jewel said.

Stitch Heads to Detroit for the Disney Holiday Magic Tour
Beyond New York City, Stitch traveled to Detroit as part of the Disney Holiday Magic Tour. More than 120 families selected by Toys for Tots were invited to a first-of-its-kind immersive event featuring Disney-themed play zones, a festive lighting ceremony, holiday treats, and a surprise "shopping" experience offering toys and gifts at no cost.

"It's just a godsend that this gets put on for families like us, that are struggling," said Michael Dunigan, a Detroit parent who attended. "We've had a wonderful time here. The smiles on [the kids'] faces made my day. Without you guys, there would be a lot of families without Christmas."

Families wrapped up the Detroit event with a meet-and-greet with Stitch himself, making memories that will outlast the holiday season. The Detroit stop was one of many on Stitch's global Disney Holiday Magic Tour journey — his mission: to get off Santa's "naughty list" by delivering joy to families around the world.

Eight Decades of Holiday Giving — and How to Join
The Disney Ultimate Toy Drive has been running for nearly 80 years, bringing millions of toys to children and families in need. Disney's relationship with Toys for Tots dates to 1948, when Walt Disney and his studio artists created designs to drive awareness for the campaign — including the Toys for Tots train logo still in use today.

What This Means for Families and Fans
The Disney Ultimate Toy Drive remains one of the most tangible expressions of Disney's commitment to community. Fans can donate a toy through December 24 at DisneyStore.com/ToyDrive, or in person at Disney Stores, Disneyland Resort, or Walt Disney World Resort through December 14, 2025.
