Disney and AccuWeather Launch Disney Weather Check for Parks and Resorts

Disney Experiences and AccuWeather have launched Disney Weather Check, a first-of-its-kind forecasting app built for theme park guests. It delivers geo-fenced alerts, hyperlocal MinuteCast precipitation timing, and RealFeel temperatures across Walt Disney World, Disneyland Resort, Aulani, and Disney's Vero Beach and Hilton Head resorts.

Disney and AccuWeather have entered a long-term, multi-platform licensing agreement to build a forecasting and alerting system made specifically for theme park and resort guests. The result, Disney Weather Check, powered by AccuWeather, delivers hyperlocal, real-time forecasts and location-specific alerts across Disney's U.S. destinations through a dedicated mobile experience.

A Forecasting System Built for the Parks

AccuWeather announced the new co-development agreement with Disney Experiences on May 28, 2026, describing it as a first-of-its-kind weather forecasting and alerting system created for Disney guests. Rather than a generic forecast, Disney Weather Check is tuned to the specific demands of a park day — when to seek shelter, when a passing shower will clear, and how the conditions will actually feel while waiting in a queue or walking between lands.

Guests access the experience by downloading the Disney Weather Check powered by AccuWeather mobile app, which surfaces real-time forecasts and location-specific alerts during a visit. The agreement covers a seamless, customized in-park integration at Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa, Disney's Vero Beach Resort, and Disney's Hilton Head Island Resort.

• Custom Hourly Forecast: A property-specific hourly forecast for each covered resort, with real-time conditions to support planning and guest safety.
• AccuWeather MinuteCast: A hyperlocal forecast of precipitation type, intensity, and precise start and end times for rain or snow over the next four hours — pinpointed to a guest's exact GPS location.
• AccuWeather RealFeel Temperature: A "feels like" index built on 14 factors rather than temperature alone, giving a more precise read on park-day comfort.

Safety at the Core

For Disney, the partnership extends an existing focus on guest safety. The forecasting integration ties into Disney SyncLink Technology, the company's suite of safety and accessibility software covering areas such as weather safety, food safety, employee safety, and communication for guests with hearing and vision disabilities. Disney also licenses SyncLink to outside companies to bring those solutions to the broader market.
