Disney Dreamlight Valley's next free update, Whispers of the Wind, blows into the Valley on April 8, 2026, bringing Pocahontas and her curious raccoon companion Meeko to the cozy life-sim. The headline addition is joined by a massive new feature called Olaf's Grand Exhibition, a brand-new Star Path Vault system, quality-of-life improvements players have been requesting for months, and a long-awaited performance boost on Nintendo Switch.

Key Update Details
- Update Name: Whispers of the Wind
- Release Date: April 8, 2026
- Cost: Free for all players
- Featured Character: Pocahontas (from Disney's Pocahontas)
- New Companion: Meeko
- Requirements to Start: Moana unlocked, Forest of Valor and Dazzle Beach biomes
Pocahontas Arrives in the Valley
The storyline at the heart of Whispers of the Wind leans into the ocean-faring themes Gameloft has been building through Moana's arrival. To kick things off, players will need Moana unlocked along with the Forest of Valor and Dazzle Beach biomes. With a fellow ocean adventurer at your side, you'll follow swirling leaves to a mysterious island, piecing together fragmented memories to bring Pocahontas back to your Valley.
Once she arrives, Pocahontas brings her own Yehakin home as a new building and helps players unravel the whimsical Moontide Glow phenomenon transforming the Valley's oceans. A Celestial Celebration quest chain lets you harness starlight to craft special bait and welcome Meeko, her mischievous raccoon sidekick, as a new companion. Raising Pocahontas's friendship level unlocks additional rewards including her signature clothing set.
Olaf's Grand Exhibition: A Museum for Your Valley
The update's biggest new feature is Olaf's Grand Exhibition, a new hub available to anyone who has unlocked Olaf from Disney's Frozen. Think of it as a living museum where players can finally showcase the collections and achievements they've spent hours building. You'll enter an impeccable lobby complete with a miniature replica of the Valley, greeted by Olaf himself, with doors leading to biome-themed display rooms.
At launch, the Grand Exhibition opens with two rooms dedicated to the Peaceful Meadow and Dazzle Beach biomes, with more rooms planned for future updates. Each room contains three grand displays:
- Diorama: Unlocked by displaying biome-specific flowers, then filled in by completing Blueprint panels that add storyline elements.
- Aquarium: Unlocked by displaying biome-specific gems, then populated with biome-specific fish.
- Habitat: Unlocked by displaying biome-specific foods, then filled with biome-specific companions.
For collectors who have poured dozens of hours into fishing, cooking, and befriending critters, it's finally a place to show it all off.
Star Path Vault Rewards and the Elements of Nature Path
The new Elements of Nature Star Path leans into nature-inspired fashion, lush new furniture, and a Hermit Garden Turtle companion. But the bigger structural change is the debut of Star Path Vault Rewards, a feature that addresses one of the community's longest-running frustrations: missing out on past seasonal rewards.
- Vault reward paths exist alongside the current Star Path rewards rather than replacing them.
- Vault rewards are drawn from previous Star Paths players may have missed.
- If you already own a reward, it's marked as such and swapped for a random Red Chest.
- Premium Star Path holders gain access to additional Vault rewards that are reimagined versions of previous items.
- Vault progression is linear and tied exclusively to Routine Duties — every three Routine Duties completed unlocks one Vault reward.
The Star Path Rewards screen itself has been cleaned up too: the separate Bonus Rewards sub-menu is gone, bonus rewards are now highlighted within the main rewards screen, and a grid toggle, rewards-type filters, and DreamSnaps tags have been added to reward previews.

Upcoming Events and the Colors of Nature Collection
Two seasonal events are bookending the update window. The Spring Floating Festival runs April 29 to May 19 with new puzzles and rewards, followed by the returning Troves of Treasure event from May 27 to June 9, where players follow rippling waters to uncover hidden notes and earn golden rewards.
The premium Colors of Nature Collection rounds out the cosmetic drops with the Natural Pergola Set, fresh looks for Goofy's Stall and the Wishing Well, two unique swirling-wind-leaves effects, and a new companion — Percy, the prim pug from Disney's Pocahontas. Scrooge McDuck's Store is also restocking with exquisite new clothing including a Blue and White Cottage Dress, Violet Ombre Strapless and Sleeved Gowns, and a Jewel-Toned Cottage Dress, plus new furniture once Pocahontas has joined the Valley.
Note: Disney Dreamlight Valley Apple Arcade Edition does not include seasonal Star Paths or access to the Premium Shop.
Quality-of-Life Improvements and Performance Boost
Nintendo Switch players have been waiting patiently for better performance, and this update delivers. Gameloft says Switch players will see up to an additional 5 fps boost, which translates to as much as 20% faster frame rates in the most heavily decorated Valleys.
Other improvements focus on the decorating and crafting workflow:
- Crafting and Uncrafting menus now share the same categories as the furniture menu and Scrooge Shop Delivery, with new sections for Quest and Event Crafting Recipes and the addition of search and filters.
- Group Mode Selector has been enlarged — 50% bigger outside, roughly 130% bigger inside to cover the largest rooms, with improved selection visibility over water.
- Fencing and Path categories have been cleaned up to more accurately reflect how those systems actually work.
- Reward collection animations have been revamped for a more satisfying payoff.
Top Bug Fixes
Whispers of the Wind is also a hefty bug-fix patch. Highlights include quest fixes for The Trial of Virtue, An Alarming Development, Ghost Town, You Have Mail!, Trouble in Paradise, The Great Blizzard, The Decay of Fashion, and Guts & Glory, plus multiple fixes in the Lady and the Tramp and Beauty and the Beast realms. PlayStation players get relief from the CE-34878-0 crash and a PS4 out-of-memory fix.
- Red Chests no longer award expansion items to players without the expansion.
- Pluto's celebration animation near Pet Playgrounds and the Fuzzy Pet Feeder now works correctly.
- Eric's blueprints can be purchased again after a "NoPriceForItem" error was resolved.
- Group Mode cursor offset, sub-grid selection, stall grouping, and Edit Mode exit issues have all been addressed.
- Cosmetic fixes include the Arendellian Riding Helmet no longer making Avatars bald, the Giselle Costume neckline clipping, Stylish Sailor Pants visuals, and the Lady Edwardian Ensemble necklace clipping.
- UI fixes for the DreamSnaps menu, Star Path Track All Duties hint, Alice in Wonderland collection visibility, and the Forgotten name-change text box.
What This Means for Valley Villagers
Whispers of the Wind is shaping up to be one of the most substantial free updates Dreamlight Valley has seen in a while. Pocahontas fills a gap in the game's princess roster while continuing the ocean storyline Moana began, and Olaf's Grand Exhibition is the kind of long-term collection showcase dedicated players have been asking for since launch. Add in the Star Path Vault's fix for FOMO on missed rewards and a meaningful Switch performance uplift, and April 8 is worth circling on the calendar for anyone who calls the Valley home.
