Disney Imagination Garden: Inside the Open-Air Heart of the Disney Adventure

Disney Imagination Garden, the emotional heart of the Disney Adventure, is an enchanting open-air space set to debut when Disney Cruise Line's newest ship begins sailing from Singapore in 2026. Designed to evoke the pages of a classic pop-up storybook, the garden will be one of seven uniquely themed areas aboard the ship and will serve as its central gathering place for entertainment, dining, and character experiences. A first-of-its-kind castle at sea — three decks tall and inspired by Disney castles from around the world — will preside over the entire space.

Key Details

Storybook Design and Garden Landscape

Disney Imagination Garden draws on the visual language of classic illustrated storybooks, with paper cut-out styled landscapes adorned with blossoming flowers, shaped topiaries, tall trees, and cascading vines. Hidden throughout the decorative greenery are Easter eggs and iconography from Disney, Pixar, and Marvel stories.

The space is anchored on one end by the theatrical Garden Stage and a charming courtyard on the other. A sweeping open lawn leads to a grand staircase framed by adorned arches, layered tree branches, and hanging lanterns — effectively forming amphitheater-style seating ideal for watching live shows including Avengers Assemble!, the signature Marvel entertainment experience featuring Deadpool, Spider-Man, Iron Man, and more.

Families booked into the new Garden View staterooms — an all-new room category for Disney Cruise Line — will have access to a verandah with direct views into the garden.

At the top of the grand staircase, guests will find a quaint courtyard framed by lofty storybook-style trees populated with familiar animal characters. The courtyard's centerpiece is a topiary of Sorcerer's Apprentice Mickey Mouse, wand raised as though conjuring the entire garden to life.

Disney Cruise Line's First Castle at Sea

Presiding over Disney Imagination Garden will be a stunning storybook castle that soars three decks tall — a first for any Disney cruise ship. The castle's design draws on real and imagined Disney castles from across the globe, with nods to the Walt Disney Pictures castle, Sleeping Beauty's Castle at Disneyland Paris, and Rapunzel's tower. The design also incorporates influences from legendary Disney artists including Herbert Ryman, Frank Armitage, and Eyvind Earle. A decorative waterfall surrounded by a wave motif anchors the base of the castle.

Dining in the Garden: Two New Quick-Service Restaurants

Disney Imagination Garden will be home to two quick-service eateries, each inspired by a Walt Disney Animation Studios film. Both venues offer indoor and outdoor seating, with patio tables providing views of the Garden Stage for guests who want to dine and watch entertainment simultaneously.

What This Means for Cruisers

Disney Imagination Garden sets the Disney Adventure apart as a ship built around a central outdoor experience — an unusual and bold design choice for a cruise ship. Between the castle at sea, the theatrical Garden Stage, dedicated garden-view staterooms, and two culturally distinct dining concepts, the area is designed to serve as the ship's most memorable gathering space. The Disney Adventure begins sailing from Singapore in 2026; details are available at DisneyCruise.com.
