Disney Cruise Line Spotlights Student Storytellers With 101 Dalmatians KIDS Production in Brevard County
Endeavour Elementary School students performed 101 Dalmatians KIDS on March 19 as the finale of the pilot Disney Musicals in Schools: Stage Connect program, backed by Disney Cruise Line through its new "Discover Your Destiny" initiative tied to the launch of the Disney Destiny. Captain Mickey Mouse made a surprise curtain-call appearance, inviting the cast to an exclusive performance of Seas the Adventure aboard the Disney Wish.

Students at Endeavour Elementary School in Brevard County, Florida took the stage on March 19 for a full production of 101 Dalmatians KIDS, the grand finale of a months-long partnership between Disney Cruise Line and the pilot Disney Musicals in Schools: Stage Connect program. The performance tied directly into Disney Cruise Line's "Discover Your Destiny" initiative, launched to celebrate the arrival of the Disney Destiny.
A Debut Performance in Brevard County
The 101 Dalmatians KIDS production played at the Rockledge High School auditorium, drawing parents, community members, educators — and a packed section of Disney VoluntEARS from Disney Cruise Line who had spent months working alongside the young cast. Captain Mickey Mouse made a surprise appearance during the curtain call and invited the students to visit the Disney Wish for an exclusive performance of Seas the Adventure. Performers and educators were presented with handcrafted flowers created by crew members onboard the Disney Destiny.
The Journey to Center Stage
Endeavour Elementary was one of the first schools in the country to join the pilot Disney Musicals in Schools: Stage Connect program. Students, parents, and educators built the production with direct support from Disney Cruise Line cast and crew members — making it one of the more unusual musical-theater partnerships in the country, where the "creative team" included entertainment-industry professionals from a cruise line instead of only the school's own staff.
"Discover Your Destiny" and the Disney Destiny
The school partnership was built around "Discover Your Destiny," an initiative tied to the launch of the Disney Destiny — the latest vessel in Disney Cruise Line's Wish-class fleet. The Destiny sails 4- and 5-night Bahamian itineraries out of Port Everglades and is themed around Disney Animation, Pixar, and Marvel heroes and villains.
"Discover Your Destiny" was specifically designed to open doors for students and educators in Disney Cruise Line's port communities by pairing young performers with DCL entertainment staff. Students met with DCL entertainment crew members to hear firsthand what it takes to turn a passion for performing into a professional career.
"It was a really cool opportunity to be able to connect with the kids to emphasize that you can make a career out of the arts." — Claire, Costume Production Manager, Disney Cruise Line
Bringing Stories to Life with Disney Musicals in Schools
The partnership runs on top of Disney Musicals in Schools, a program that builds lasting theater programs in public elementary schools by providing free performance rights, materials, and professional development for teachers. The program is designed to help schools launch brand-new musical theater programs from scratch — with the goal of ensuring the next generation of artists has a place to grow.
"What these students and educators accomplished is a powerful reminder of what's possible when young people are given the opportunity to tell stories through the arts." — Lisa Mitchell, Director of Education & Audience Engagement, Disney Theatrical Group
Stage Connect: Scaling the Program Online
Endeavour Elementary was one of over 70 elementary schools selected for the inaugural Stage Connect launch — an online teacher-training platform designed to remove geographic barriers. Stage Connect expands Disney Musicals in Schools with free online training that gives teachers the tools and resources to produce a Disney KIDS musical regardless of their school's location.
"Disney has inspired our students well beyond what we as educators could have ever imagined. The Disney Musicals in Schools' programming has been incredible. And Disney Cruise Line's partnership has brought it to the next level." — Catherine Murphy, Principal, Endeavour Elementary School
Regional Impact Beyond Brevard County
"Discover Your Destiny" is intentionally multi-front. Beyond Brevard County, Disney Cruise Line is:
- Challenging students in Broward County, Florida, to think like Walt Disney Imagineers and executives, presenting business-case solutions to panelists from across Disney Cruise Line.
- Working with the Shirley Bass Foundation in The Bahamas to help students apply artistic skills to the vibrant traditions of Junkanoo, and supporting educators layering the arts into cultural storytelling.
What This Means for Disney Fans
DCL's creative-arts outreach program is a different kind of "new" Disney Destiny story — one that trades glamour shots of the ship for onstage moments from real students. It's also a window into how Disney Theatrical Group, Disney Cruise Line, and the Disney VoluntEARS community stack up behind a single shared initiative.
