Melch was one of several enslaved Ugnaughts forced to work at Reklam Station, an Imperial salvage yard. When the Ghost crew arrived, looking to steal 14 Y-wings, Melch made a deal with Hondo: he would disengage the furnace conveyer in exchange for liberation.
